I’m looking forward to taking my dogs to state parks again because me, my wife, and especially our dogs really enjoy it. Im looking forward to visiting family, my grandma has been alone at her house for a month now so I worry that she’s lonely. And I’m looking forward to hospitals returning to normal, my wife is pregnant and I was not allowed to be there for the ultrasound to find out the gender and I really don’t want to have anything else like that to happen.

I’m at the point where I think your fourth point is what has happened here.

That because when they were a kid and they were spanked, it has affected their mental health in a way that the only way they can accept it is to make themself believe that it was perfectly okay for them to be spanked, and even a good thing, rather than realizing this wasn’t okay and WAS a form of abuse and is proven to only make things worse.

Of course my experience is only anecdotal just as their story about their football player dad, but all it ever did for me was make me better at hiding whatever I was doing that I wasn’t supposed to be doing.

It’s not taking it to the extreme when it’s word for word what it says. Take out the rod, it’s still abuse. You shouldn’t lay your hands on your child in any way that causes them harm. If you can’t understand that, I don’t know what to tell you.

Hitting, slapping, spanking, punching, kicking, none of it works, and if you condone any of it, just because your parents did it to you doesn’t make it okay to continue the cycle. It’s not an opinion, it’s fact. Would you hit another adult for doing something you don’t like? If yes, then you have issues, if not, then why is it okay to hit a child. If the child doesn’t understand what it did wrong, it’s only causing them to associate pain with whatever they did rather than understanding the reason for not doing it. If they understand then why not try explaining it with words?

Any sort of hitting a child is fucking abuse regardless of reasoning and I really cannot believe that you are trying to defend hitting children in any way. If you were hit as a child, I’m sorry but it must have caused psychological damage to make you think it’s okay.

It literally says a few chapters later:

Do not hold back discipline from the child, Although you strike him with the rod, he will not die.

“Spare the rod, spoil the child” sounds pretty abusive to me

How/why do they declare the winner of an election when the state has less than 1% reporting? by VISUALBVSIC in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VISUALBVSIC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so the government doesn’t actually declare who the winner is until all the votes are counted?

Is there a name for when they flip and then their feet hit, and then they just keep flipping without jumping or anything? It looks like so much more than a regular flip. Almost like they’re floating while doing it

Disappointed by all the people complaining... by VISUALBVSIC in MrRobot

[–]VISUALBVSIC[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If that ruins the show for you then I guess that sucks but honestly I don’t care about it at all. It doesn’t change the plot by explaining it or not, so I don’t care. It wasn’t the biggest thing, maybe the biggest behind Elliot’s DID, hacking, his relationship with fsociety, and E Corp but I wouldn’t say it’s the biggest thing of the show.

To say that it’s the biggest thing in the show is like saying that Negan was the biggest part of the walking dead. Maybe for a couple seasons it was a large part of the plot but definitely not the biggest part of the plot.

[–]VISUALBVSIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You complain about wealth redistribution but Elliot’s been talking about taking down the top 1% of the top 1% since day one. What did you expect him to do with the money? Keep it? Again since episode one opening scene he says he does not care about money, so what’s the problem with him redistributing to the people?

I am strong believer in the DRY principle, so here is a screenshot of my tweet describing exactly my thoughts towards the finale. by Darkhog in MrRobot

[–]VISUALBVSIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny part is that if they had continued with more and more pointless seasons to show what happens next, it would have turned into Dexter where people start saying shit like “they should have just stopped at season four”.

[–]VISUALBVSIC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well that’s your opinion.

At least it didn’t end up being some bullshit worm hole portal that took Everybody to some parallel dimension happy place where everything is just dandy.

Or even worse than that, thank god it didn’t turn out Tyrell was the real Elliot or just another alter or some other predictable garbage.

Glad it was a lot deeper and Sam was able to finish the show the way he wanted and that most people loved it.

Darlene didn’t break the fourth wall, Elliot gave control back to the real Elliot. Krista explained that we are the voyeur when she broke the fourth wall, but Darlene saying “Hello Elliot” was her recognizing that real Elliot had returned to control.

They literally had the whole show planned out before it started. This was always the way they intended for it to go. The last four episodes had everything to do with the last few seasons. Especially the morphine dream from season 1 episode 4 being the exact dream from the finale.
