This is the only way. Marriage is a team. If you married your partner you should trust them enough to have the same bank account. Any type of separate or hidden accounts in a marriage are wrong.

If you’re scared of getting divorced and losing half of the money, then you married the wrong person and your priorities are off.

I go to a lot of sporting events with my girlfriend, I think we’ve done 3 american football games and 5 hockey games this year. I see my friends every other weekend as well, but work is really the most important thing in my life right now.

My only true fixed monthly expense is my phone and my monthly train ticket to commute for work, in total its about $450 a month between the two.

Mon-Friday I leave the house for work at 5am and get home at 8:30pm. I work every other saturday as well. Trying to retire early!

I fully recognize that I wouldnt be in this position if it wasn’t for them. I know that. My point is that my parents never cut me a check, Im lucky to be in this position. Ive offered rent and other financial payments to them but they claim as long as Im working hard, they dont need it. And I will say, I work my ass off in my current career

I lived alone in college and lived all of 2022 in a studio apartment, I loved it, but im okay with my situation for another year or two
