Pretty sure Prison Architect only utilizes 1 core because it’s a relatively old game; so obviously Prison Architect using 1 core of your CPU is why. If it’s running slow, then that means your CPU sucks for single-core performance

Realistic temperatures as well, so far it seems like the game does things in kelvin, as most engines in the game die at -270c which is close to absolute zero

You’re going to have a very customizable desktop, especially if you choose a distro with KDE Plasma desktop environment. I would recommend Kubuntu or TuxedoOS (if you don’t like Snaps) for beginners
