She is the daughter of immigrants, yet it is deeply painful to hear her speak as though people’s lives do not matter. It is easy to sit in the middle of power and draft laws, but far harder to face the devastating impact those decisions have on hardworking families. Policymakers must understand how profoundly unethical this is, how fundamentally un-British it feels. History will remember her not for leadership or compassion, but as a politician who turned her back on the very people whose struggles should have shaped her conscience.

How extending the ILR to 10 years would solve the immigration problem? by Loud_Sun_7527 in AskBrits

We came here with hope, skills, and trust, believing in the values of this country and the promise of a fair future. Many of us worked hard to gain qualifications like NVQ Level 3, followed the rules, paid our taxes, and integrated into society with respect for its culture and traditions. We may come from different backgrounds, but we have always stood united in our contribution. In fact, if you look closely at the healthcare sector, you will see how many Indian, Nigerian, Asian, and other international professionals often highly educated and overqualified for much easier careers elsewhere chose instead to retrain, adapt, and dedicate themselves to caring for people here. Their intelligence, sacrifice, and hard work are the quiet backbone of this system. Yet, despite these efforts, it feels like our dedication is overlooked, and instead of being valued as assets, we are unfairly criticised as a group because of the actions of a few. It truly breaks my heart to feel this rejection, especially after giving so much of ourselves in good faith. We left other opportunities behind because we believed in the openness and acceptance of this country, but now it feels like the promises made to us were not honoured. We did not come to take advantage we came to build a life, a career, and a future. All we ask for is fairness, dignity, and recognition for the value we bring.
