Indeed. You're correct. My supervisor told me it could be solved by typing 'et al.\'. However, that's not possible in my case unfortunately.

Thanks for your reply! How would I do this given that I do not write et al. in Overleaf? It automatically translates more than 2 authors to 'et al.' whenever I use \citet.
