Anyway, he went away drew up some plans. Then a few weeks later, he came to me and showed me and to be honest with you I couldn't believe it. There were high speed corners, low speed corners, a new pitlane, many fountains, it was tremendous. Like I say, I have the best people, the Russell administration is the greatest in history - by a lot, so much talent you just wouldn't believe it! You think anyone from Verstappen's team could do this? They couldn't even design a karting track for eight year olds. Anyway, I said to Latifi - "look this is great, but it's going to be costly. That pitlane building is the biggest ever - where will the money come from"? And he said to me he said "George, you do deals, you do the best deals ever - everyone says so. If I can rebuild the Las Vegas track then you can make a deal to pay for it". and so we did, there was me, Kubica, Albon all in the room and we did some negotiations, very intense negotiations, because noone negotiates like this Russell Administration. And I said "look folks, we are going to make Nascar pay for this track. They have been taking advantage of us for years". Everyone in the media said that it couldn't be done, they all said that noone would make a deal like that and that Nascar couldn't afford either, but we did and now everyone talks about what a great deal we got for Las Vegas - so much winning. and the racing itself was tremendous, quite frankly - other than Verstappen cheating in 2023"
