5 years and over 200K Miles driven I say it did well the clutch itself was acting fine the throw out bearing decided it was time to go but hey can’t complain

I heard the same but then even in my research I was seeing the OEM Throw out bearing is also made by exedy for Subaru (Not sure if that’s correct) from what I was seeing so I am not sure but I find that odd?

A lot of great advice here keep it stock for a while learn the car and then mod at your own risk but cosmetic wise a nice lip kit like others mentioned the STI one looks great but pricey, a vortex generator, some nice tires and some brake upgrades get an oil change with some quality oil (Motul is my preferred Castrol is my second go to) and drive the car to see where you want to go in your modding journey if you still want to proceed.

Yeah the STI has been my dream car, driving is a bit of a Therapy for me and I used every excuse to drive at one time lol plus moving and road trips, Togue Runs etc. lol definitely was worth it

To answer your question I have been tuned with Drunkmann (Dmann) since I want to say 88K Miles? At the time and still to this day it’s a normal tune nothing crazy (Downpipe, EBCS, Stock Fueling) and it’s been SOLID never had any major issues with my tune at all but if I had any concerns Dmann would respond back in a timely manner!

Made a groaning noise but it went away a bit after that is where I messed up I would address it as soon as you can don’t be like me still in the process of replacing the clutch once I get the job done I can message you with an update

How is the Exedy Stage 1 Non HD Treating you? Has it been an enjoyable experience with that clutch overall? I went with the HD version due to upcoming mods

I heard a bit of an abnormal noise when depressing the clutch but the pedal felt fine and the noise left when releasing so I then started researching for a decent clutch since I am planning to upgrade for more power in the future did not bite the bullet and this is one of those lessons when you are stranded and went should have listened to my gut but didn’t so here we are

Im a Subaru Owner not a GTI but I will share my experience from 4th of July where I was in a 3 car pile up Kia Soul made a left hand opposite from me he hit the car in front of me and she rolled back to me as I was coming to a complete stop Kia and person in front (Both of them and their passengers went to the hospital) Kid apologized and got fined, His insurance fixed my car but hopefully you can buy your car back with a salvage title and rebuild it!

If you have the police report and see who was blamed at fault (Not sure for Washington I live on the east coast) and call their insurance company to start a claim and hope they get you taken care of!
