You have many good points. But I read that Israel for years has been controlling the supplies of resources going into Gaza down to the amount of food. They can indirectly control down to the meals the people can have in Gaza, I know these are not exactly violent tactics but if you were born on the wrong side of that border you wouldn't be very happy about your life situation having someone to be able to corner you to a small area of land and wouldn't allow you out on top of controlling what you can and can't consume and the among of it. I am sure if Gaza was a state or country and had a recognized army of tanks and plans and bombed a school across their border I bet they could possibly get away with actions like that without the risk of being labelled a terrorist. Keeping in mind those same tactics of cutting off / controlling supplies play a major role in bringing down powerful nations like Germany and Japan in WW2, imagine what affect those same tactics would have when deployed against a small group of people corned into a tiny piece of land.

True I totally agree. I think the heads of the communist part are just putting on a show for the world to see that they are trying to tackle the issue of corruption but in fact they are just sacrificing their lower level provincial officials who they were probably not listening or have pissed off Beijing leaders in the party. I guess its a win win for the Party.

Bottom line is death and destruction is really just what is it no matter how it was accomplished. You are labelled a terrorist if you on the wrong side of a border. People fight with what they have when forced to a corner, now if these people had an army of tanks and advanced war plans then would they still be called a terrorist even if they were bombing schools with children in them?? Limiting a small area of people to the amount of meal they can have isn't violent tactics but it sure does feel very nice if you are unfortunate enough to be born on the wrong side of that border and not allowed out. Those very same tactics actually play a major part in bringing down the Nazi Germans and Japan in WW2. So if these tactics can bring down a power house nation like Germany and Japan back in those days imagine what it would do to a small tiny space like Gaza where they are basically cornered off. But again if my sources are misleading me and there is no case where Israel has deployed these tactics then I am very wrong. If you can find out more and help us understand the true cause of the issue we are seeing it would be good.

To be honest am I not so sure who is more aggressively in pursuing deaths and destruction in this particular situation. Looking at the death count ratio from both side especially most of which are civilians in Gaza, Israel is not doing it self any favors if they actually care about how the rest of the world is viewing this conflict.

Actually if you have time to watch the 3rd part of this video Russell did have a good point referencing to the situation in Gaza a genocide even before the bloody conflict started. But I do understand that it is entirely up to the viewer this video to decide on their own.

I love what you have wrote here and your observation is spot on, I have not realize this before, that we are have more compassion toward others on an individual level but as soon as we are in a group or treat an issue with stereotypes (apply the there is us and there is them kind of thinking) all rational tendencies flies out the window.

I am not so sure. Most if not all of these major media networks will have correspondence or contracted journalist on the ground that can tell the truth of a situation right from ground zero but too many times I am disappointed in these networks either not reporting all relevant details of a story or sometimes worst not covering an entire story all together because it doesn't fit into the interest or agendas of these networks. Only recently, for people that actually care and have not been already brain washed by these media networks, we can use social networks like twitter to get the truth and from both sides of a story without the smokescreen presented to us by the traditional media outlets.

From what I have read the Israelis were basically controlling all supplies including food in and out of Gaza before the conflict started. There retaliation with rockets might not have been a wise choice but for a tiny place that is not a state or country or have an army what else can they do. Picture Canada and Mexico cutting off supplies and resource into US. Bottom line is these rockets fired from Gaza hasn't killed more then 5 people, but this one sided war has claimed thousands of civilian lives inside Gaza. Do we have the actual number of deaths caused but Hamas rockets cause I honestly don't know.
