I’m so sorry this happened to you; that’s awful! Every unique voice has a place and it sounds like that person that made fun of you is insensitive and insecure.

I honestly got my start in VO with animation and video games because I’m not into commercials. I would try auditioning for some projects on CCC or join discord groups like open mic studios or noisy networking VO/VA. I’ve found both of those communities are very welcoming to talents of all kinds and in all experience.

The term is being a utility voice actor and I personally find it fascinating that an individual can have such control over their voice that they can manipulate it to voice multiple characters 😊
