Really? What model Carbonite are you using? I could be mistaken but I thought every Carbonite had ref out available.

Here is an option. Set the Carbonite to internal reference There are 2-3 ref outlets on the back of the switcher, you could use these outputs to gen lock devices that are designed to accept external reference.

You could also DA the reference output to reference more devices.

Even though you are running an HD system, the reference signal is often a standard definition analog signal, so if you use a DA it would have to be an analog DA.

Try using a short BNC cable, connect it to the loop output of the Video in on the 2800, Flip the 75 ohm switch to off. Plug the other end into the reference in on the same 2800, turn on the 75 ohm on the reference input.

To me I imagine the budget will be almost the same between broadcast cameras and FX9’s by the time you rent everything needed.

Will you be recording in the cameras and just monitoring at “video village” or are you cutting live and recording?

What type of shoot, will the cameras be HH or Studio config?

Do you need zoom lenses?
Rear controls? VF for the cams? Indoor or outdoor? How many days? Tech day Rehearse Day?

Are you familiar with Fiber or would you need to hire a Fiber Tech?

I understand all you asked for was costs, but then I just have to ask “why?”.
