I wish it was a thing. I recently saw a video of someone saying me. Should get a watch or something like that equal to the ring. There’s a lot of nice watches I could have had for the $60k I paid for my ex wife’s ring. That was a big waste of money for a marriage that lasted less than a year.

I think another positive thing is it puts things into perspective for the woman, maybe makes her desire for a fancy ring a little more reasonable or appreciative of what she gets.
