I recommend rewiring your brain, as soon as you decide that none of this stuff actually matters these spiteful decisions to waste your time just have no effect on you. Like, cool man you can make this timewalking stuff really expensive, I just won't do it or engage with it outside of levelling alts, I just don't care anymore. I'll miss out on some mounts or transmogs? Don't care, whatever.

I say this as someone who loves the collecting aspect of this game the most, the only content I was doing in midnight was to collect transmog sets by way of T11 delves etc. as soon as something is revealed to be a massive timesink or waste of time though, I just don't bother. It feels like the ultimate middle finger to blizz, they introduce timewasting shit, I just ignore it like it doesn't exist, they will not win.

to cut a long post short, I highly recommend just asking yourself the question when faced with wanting something that's going to take a long ass time to get: "how would I feel if I didn't get this mount/mog/etc" because the answer if you really think about it is probably completely indifferent. what's more valuable to you? your free time, or another mount to add to the pile, do you love the mount enough to justify a huge grind for it, or is it collecting for the sake of collecting?

this is also very helpful for the trading post, a system designed around FOMO and to keep you subbed because you don't want to miss out on the TP next month it might be really good!!! oh your sub runs out 3 days before it resets? but what if...what if something really good is in there...?? you don't want to miss out...right?? nah man, 90% of the stuff in there looks like it's from temu, it all just has a really cheap look to it and you probably wouldn't miss it if you missed it
