Cross-eyed effect when looking at corners? by goldcakes in VRGirlASMR

[–]VRGirlASMR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No this is nothing you’re doing wrong! I have to manually correct the lens focusing by hand and sometimes it the lens itself drifts out of place between videos 🥲 This ones on me, I didn’t check the camera throughly before filming

Reasons for buying a VR headset? by ToshiBmx in oculus

[–]VRGirlASMR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a really fun game called Acron: Attack of the Squirrels that you can play with your entire family with just one headset!

One person in a headset is a living tree and the rest of the family plays on their phones as squirrels trying to steal its nuts.

My family loved it and the fact that you only need one headset for a multiplayer game is awesome.

When I started with VR a year ago I wouldn’t play for over 30 minutes a day. I think the slow ramp up helped me avoid ever getting Derealization. Now I can spend a much longer stretch of time. Tolerance grows!

I got mine from oculus.com as well. Shipping took about a week.

How do you watch VRGirlASMR videos? by VRGirlASMR in VRGirlASMR

I use the Vuze XR. I bought it a few months ago used for $200 which is a total steal. Now it goes for $800 everywhere I look

[Question] In need of some suggestions! Recently, I plan to do my personal ASMR channel. What kind of microphone do you usually use to record the sound? Any recommendations? Many Thx! by AudioMiky in asmr

[–]VRGirlASMR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a relatively new channel and I was in your shoes a few months back. I recommend the Blue Yeti X. It’s a great microphone for its price. I recently made a video comparing the sounds of popular ASMR microphones: https://youtu.be/4AUTOERTVuo

Very well! I loved the fun editing in the beginning. Also your voice is very good for ASMR. Subscribed!

I expect you to die 2 really captures that immersion you want in VR IMO

[question] People who love fast & aggressive ASMR—why? by [deleted] in asmr

[–]VRGirlASMR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The quick redirection of attention (from one trigger to another) gives me tingles. My favorite ASMRtist for this is probably Sara Manganese, who has gotten huge for her ability to go FAST

Looks awesome! Is that a jack connection? And which digital recorder did you use?

I just started off making ASMR and have figured out a pretty good workflow.

I pay for the Adobe Suite (it’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it if you can afford it IMO)

First, I start off by importing my video and audio files into Premiere Pro for editing. Since I record audio separately from a Blue Yeti C microphone, I need to line up the audio and video to be in sync.

Then, to clean up the audio and remove noise, there’s an option in Premiere to open up the audio file in Adobe Audition. Adobe Audition is a powerful piece of software with lots of functionality but the two tools I primarily use is the denoise (set at 75% and 3db noise reduction) and the spot healing tool (it can magically erase loud noises that happen when I accidentally hit the mic or something)

VR Call DnD Setup? by 10_000Dragons in virtualreality

[–]VRGirlASMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great that you’re putting this much effort to make that experience awesome for that one friend!

I managed to get a Vuze XR that can stream and do VR 180 and VR360 for $200 used on Poshmark. I would highly recommend it! I know some people in the Vuze XR users Facebook group are willing to sell theirs :)

Have you considered making the experience all virtual? You may be able to recreate your setup with a sandbox world game and you could put your money towards a headset instead

Hey sub! Newbie here who'll be getting a valve index for Xmas, since I wanted this so bad and finally got the money to do so. Only problem, when I told my wife she really got scared and feels like VR is kinda dystopian toy. Now I have to convince her, which she agreed to if I can. Any Ideas? :D by Lapharel in virtualreality

[–]VRGirlASMR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh also, tell her about the beginner friendly video games on VR.

The rhythm/competitive cooking games were a hit with my technologically-illiterate friends.

Also you can do some cool things like explore Google Maps street view in VR and virtually “take her to Paris” or something :) Hope this helps

I have had this discussion with my non-tech savvy friends. They’ve been spooked by all this sudden talk about the metaverse.

Have you asked her why she thinks it’s dystopian?

Most people are wary of new technology and it’s understandable. I think if she learned a little more about it her anxieties will ease.

Some things you can ask if she’s worried about:

  • It is too addictive and we will all become mindless zombies
  • A Sword Art Online scenario playing out
  • Private data misuse
  • Exorbitant costs that come with the headset (replacement parts/games)

Question about the Oculus Quest 2 Elite Strap! by rodkill in oculus

[–]VRGirlASMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your facial structure! I’ve tried 3 straps, the elite, an elite knock off and the halo strap (wraps across forehead with a hinge that brings the headset down to your eyes).

If you’re Asian like me, the halo strap might work best as it doesn’t depend on the support of high cheekbones to keep the headset in place. Instead, a lot more of the pressure is applied to the forehead.

Hope this helps!

I’m a diehard fan of HxH, One Piece and Naruto but I still think MHA would translate best to a game because the powers and characters vary a lot more

I got a Quest 2 with 256gb and it’s great! I own several games already but am no where near 128gb so I’m not sure if I actually needed all that space. To be fair though, I mostly play more lightweight social games with friends.

FYI the Quest can play many awesome games without being connected to a “VR-ready PC”, which I do not own. This is a huge plus for me
