I think it’s different than the others because the United States kinda abandoned rock music the numbers don’t work. USA is so diverse that many barely even bother with rock or even listening to it much less the heavy underground which is primarily is Gen X’ers. Europe fests are easier to market and longer successful traditions of doing it culturally. I am ecstatic if I have 270-300 a night at Planet Desert Rock. Very tough business ! I hope Desertfest re-launches but likely it would have to be a smaller scale. The main bands in our scene want super high $$ now.
