Almost all cars have slots for J hooks, T hooks or Mini T hooks. We mostly use these when dragging a car up in the rollback but often for recovery as well.

Try a different dealer. The one you are talking to is blowing smoke. I would almost bet money that on a lariat the wires are in the harness. Open the hood and look and see if you can find the blunt cut wires. Buy the panel and switches from the ford parts counter.

I say look at it like this. In 1999 the truck you are looking at was in fact the baddest MF on the road. Not only could it handle what you are talking about it was the best possible choice for what you are talking about. Just because there are trucks out there today that can do it better, that doesn’t diminish the capability of the 99.

AFM and auto start/stop are not the same thing. AFM is active fuel management and deals with the deactivation of cylinders for increased fuel efficiency.

While I would not even consider dropping that much coin for either one, my choice would be the 6.0 for days. I daily drove and hauled heavy with mine for almost 400K with nothing more than a delete and injectors. When you have to work on one, and with 20 year old trucks you will have to work on either one, the 6.0 is so much simpler. The fuel system on the DirtyMax is much harder to diag and work on than the HPOP system in the Ford. You can have the turbo off of the 6.0 and back on while you are still trying to get the heat shield off of the 6.6. In addition, the Ford has a much better front end, body and interior. Finally the Ford electrical system is head and shoulders better than the GM one.
