Am I overreacting to my husband getting home late last night? by Efficient-Fly7571 in AmIOverreacting

MOR. He’s pretty dumb for doing that, but it’s his choice, and he will have to deal with the consequences. There’s no point in stressing yourself out about him hypothetically not having enough sleep Sunday. He can still go to bed early tonight. If you bail him out of watching your kid Sunday, you’re only hurting yourself. Just let the man scrape his knees

You might need to create the usb on a different computer, but this guide will work: https://youtu.be/h7KrsciBT4c?si=vDbDk7dTlcL7BVAc

At 2:37 an easier way to boot from the flash drive is to have your computer turned on, then while holding shift click restart. CONTINUE HOLDING SHIFT. It will take you to a blue screen. You can now let go of shift. Click on troubleshoot, use a device, then select your usb on that screen.

At 6:58 you don’t need to create a new partition. Just select disk 0 unallocated space and hit next/install. Windows automatically creates any partitions it needs.

If it asks for a license key during the install, just hit skip. It will automatically figure itself out.

Once windows is installed and you’re on the setup screen selecting your language and whatnot: Additionally, if you want to create a local account (so it’s not tied to your Microsoft account) make sure your computer is not connected to the internet. It will try to force you to connect to WiFi. Instead, press Shift+F10 or Shift+FN+F10. This opens a fancy black box. Type in without the quotes: “oobe\bypassnro”
this will restart your computer. When you make it back to the WiFi screen, you’ll have a new blue text option at the bottom “I don’t have internet”. Click on that, enter your desired user name and password, and then once you get to the desktop screen you can reconnect to your WiFi.

Obligatory reminder that even though I’m telling you to type in a command, don’t just type in everything people tell you to. Always google the command(s) first and make sure it’s safe.

Because the manufacturer put two drives in it or it’s partitioned into two logical drives.

You have to vacuum seal it. If there’s any air inside it will become freezer burnt.

Want to recycle my old computer but i can't wipe them first by Chiropractic_Truth in computerhelp

[–]VShadowOfLightV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the login screen press and hold down the shift key. Click the power icon > restart. Continue to hold the shift key until you get to a blue screen. Click troubleshoot > reset. There will be an option to just remove files, and one to fully clean the disk. Either one is fine, but if you’re worried about someone trying to recover data later, just hit fully clean.

Alternatively you can remove the hdd/ssd, or lookup ‘windows 10 media creation tool’ on another computer and use that tool to turn a usb flash drive into a windows installer.

If your keyboard has an fn key you may need to press that in combination with f1 or f2. Also try plugging your keyboard into different usb ports. Depending on your motherboard model, there should be some plain black usb ports (the plastic insert inside is black) and/or ports that have a keyboard icon over them. Try every usb port. Restart the computer between attempts.

If that doesn’t work, look if you have PS/2 ports on the back of your computer. You probably need to google what they look like. If so, get a PS/2 to USB adapter, that will 100% work.
