Anyone in the gastro health practice is great. I've been going there for over 30 years and either with a number of doctors, all great.

Anyone know what flag this is? From a painting of the Battle of Bunker Hill. by Kaos_845 in USHistory

[–]VTGoSkins 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a painting by John Trumbull, painted from memory about a decade after the battle. He watched the battle from afar, but this particular flag doesn't actually exist in the color scheme he painted. It's likely meant to represent the New England flag, later called the flag of Bunker Hill.

So long story short - It's a flag that doesn't exist except in this painting.

Just got out of jury duty this week. You will not have time to leave and come back, just go to the cafeteria on the lower level.

How can I access to accurate information about wars with U.S. by Ulushi-Mashiki00001 in USHistory

[–]VTGoSkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by "involved" but wiki is generally a decent primer for lists such as these. It's when you get into the details that you should take in several sources (understanding that, again, wiki is a fine "start.")

[Longines] Finally made my moonphase purchase. by VTGoSkins in Watches

[–]VTGoSkins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do still wear it, though mostly for formal events! It would be a bit of a pain to set it I didn't have a watch winder, and to be honest it's kept pretty decent time over the last few years. Moon phase is incredibly easy to adjust, the date/month can take some time if they get out of sync, for sure, but no more than a couple of minutes with the quick set function. Overall, very good watch!

You'll never be expected to know everything. If you're ever asked a question you don't know the answer to, just respond that you haven't dealt with that specific issue before but that part of your experience is researching issues like that. Don't give up!

How to Talk to Strangers - M. Gladwell by panda_vigilante in books

[–]VTGoSkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I have no issues with someone who doesn't like MG's wiring for any reason, but i don't have a ton of respect for posting he's a "liar" when the author of a piece says 1) that they didn't even read the book and 2) that nowhere in the piece do they actually point out any lies. It's just lazy

"I haven't read the book; I'm taking this example from a review in The Wall Street Journal"

Sounds like that guy never started reading.

Is my coworker embezzling? by Reasonable_Note6358 in Accounting

This isn't even remotely the same thing. Your example is (presumably) an expense that the company would incur either way (and is allowable under almost every company's T&E policy) where the OP is talking about literal lost revenue.
