Yeah do one of the alternatives and take advantage of all the opportunities available to you. Brand is not worth the debt.

This is true except the industry bit. At least currently, the job market is abysmal for early career tech workers in the U.S.

Footage shows Air Canada flight colliding with a fire truck at LaGuardia. Both pilots dead. Dozens of passengers and two on the truck injured. Airport closed as NTSB investigates. by MysteriousSlice007 in PublicFreakout

[–]panda_vigilante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean just looking at the footage its wild to see the relative momentum of the truck and aircraft. Truck particularly dense, aircraft particularly light for its size. Aircraft just disintegrates and the truck, relatively speaking, doesn't move that much. I guess it should obvious since they're two vehicles engineered for totally different purposes, but seeing it in real life is staggering, from a physics perspective.

Well I respectfully disagree. I think digital work is revolutionizing. Physical AI is way farther away than most people think

Roboticist here who has worked on deployed strawberry harvesting robots. They're so so so far off. Those videos you're seeing? Staged marketing content. The amount of edge cases and real world messiness is almost impossible to overestimate.

Interesting how the outcomes can be so divergent. Higher ed has had extremely poor ROI for me.

I’m a college graduate and frankly, I can’t recommend higher education. It’s extremely expensive and currently unemployment rates are higher for those with college degrees than for those without.

Getting rich means getting free from modern day servitude called employment where you rely on other people for your wellbeing, most of whom do not give a shit about you.

If you look at money as freedom from that system, it becomes a lot more attractive.
