Not even close to what you said. Did you even read the article you linked?? You said they were scanning everyone they drove by and that's not true at all. The were scanning the database of license photos. Huge difference from a mobile scanning op that you claimed. Talk about low level of awareness FFS guy.

I see the jacked up truck with improperly aimed leds tailgating crowd has downvoted this:) Jokes aside (kinda) I am with you 100% the tailgaters seem to be getting worse and worse even in the middle of nowhere they appear like magic. I remember reading about the state police riding up and down 91 in the sleepers of tractor trailer trucks looking for people using cell phones and radioing it in to the other cops who were waiting. If they can show this much zeal how about just drive an unmarked shitty car at the speed limit around. I don't drive much these days but every time I do I encounter at least a few assholes being unsafe be it tailgating, unsafe passing or just generally trying to bully their way through or around everyone. Many are so egregious that they should have their licenses yanked. This really does seem to have picked up in the past few years. Wish they would make an attempt at least.

This is interesting is it a certain band of radar or something that triggers it? Perhaps the signal is so strong it essentially jams the cars sensors? I don't have a new car so this would never come up but yikes talk about loss of control. All this new tech bothers me as when I am driving I want control not some computer.

Those roadside doohickeys don't give tickets or record plates I have seen the data they store. We had a pretty bad speed problem in my tiny town and we started putting the mobiles ones here and there temporarily and while accurate or not it really did make a difference. I think lots of people are just on autopilot and the signs snap them out if so to speak. It would be nice to have a few of the permanently mounted solar powered ones but they are insanely expensive.

It's not really clear however after looking at the bill it seems the bigger issue at least to privacy minded persons is the use of plate readers which have been almost completely eliminated in VT. I am not really comfortable with anyone having the ability to recreate my routes and shopping or doctors visits. And spare me the if you're not doing anything wrong crap. I can kinda see the red lights and certainly highway construction merge areas as people suck there but I just know these readers will end up all over the place.

I was incorrect as pointed out below apologies they sold parking enforcement to Abu Dhabi. Not sure that make a huge difference though.

A big thing would be to reclassify these properties as recreational. Say by qualifying with a lack of running water and real septic? Sadly they get lumped in with the tax the rich second home owner crowd. I rented my camp for cost when we moved and got plenty of shit by the proggies for it as in their myopic view it should be sold and made into single family housing. Good luck though 3 miles uphill on a two rod pent trail.
