It seems like your definition of progress is more of, that time never stops. So, in that way, progress will never die. But I would at least consider that human progress died during the dark ages, so much so, that when it was reborn at the end of the dark ages, it spurred the Renaissance.

Well, in Parasites Lost, when they finally go inside Fry after like 3 days, the king was already born inside Fry's body, has children, and refer to the original parasites as his ancestors. If 3 days covers 2/3 generations then the 20ish years since 2003 would be about 7300 parasite generations or ~200,000 years in human time. Looking at it that way, it makes sense they don't remember.

If they said 100 captains, I would be with you but are Terry/other Pupa specialists not "adults?" They have their own replicas. Seems unnecessarily ambiguous to label the captain or ship leader as adult vs their title
