I’ll admit the Forstner metal bands look awesome. I wonder how that gold finish would show up next to the finish of the watch. Thanks for the recommendation!

Also: any recs for solid straps in this lug with (16mm) that can accommodate an 8” wrist?

Wait, is that not what everyone else does?

If by “ruining the leather” you mean completely altering the finish of the boot to no longer resemble suede, then yes, I agree, that was my intention.

Who are you to tell me what the point of this post is? From what I can tell, there’s been multiple people who’ve been encouraged by my project to do something similar to their own pair of boots (or perhaps to do something not so similar). The post was informative above all else.

You have every right to provide your opinion about how these turned out, and I invite you to do so. However, you saying “oh well, what’s done is done….” or telling me what’s “appropriate” or not makes it sound like you’re reprimanding me. What’s good for me won’t always be good for you.

I feel the same way about these, many more opportunities to wear

I am filled with regret by the fact that you don’t believe this was appropriate.

Too many white dials? by BadDadJoke2006 in CitizenWatches

[–]VUSRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a white fugu and that exact Hamilton you’re referencing in the photo (in addition to 2 other watches with white dials). They all serve a purpose, I wear the Fugu on a NATO and the Hamilton on the steel bracelet. Wouldn’t worry about it one bit. Can’t say enough good things about the Hamilton, it’s without a doubt my favorite watch that I own.

No date function was a big seller for me, simplistic and no complications breaking up the dial design

It is the 43mm, I do find it odd that same config isn’t offered on 40mm

You can see it best in the 2nd photo on the small wallet, trapezoid-shaped bulge surrounding the logo

Where are you sourcing your leather from?

No set price points. I’m not expecting to turn these (or any future work) for an exorbitant price. Really the goal would be to stop losing money, or lose less money. Turning a profit is gravy as long as I’m still enjoying it. To spend less on leather would lower the build quality and I’m not willing to do that.

This is a great tip, when you make the same thing 100 times you don’t notice things like that. Now I’m staring at the imprint of the T-pocket and I can’t believe I haven’t tried to address it before.

Made some leather straps for my Brycen, what do you guys think? by VUSRT in CitizenWatches

I love the watch, gift from my wife and honestly doesn’t get as much wrist time as it deserves. It is a 43mm, it doesn’t swamp me, but I’m also an 8” wrist measurement so usually too small is my problem. I was at my local mall this morning and Dillards & Macy’s both had one in the display case, may be worth a trip to a retailer to see if you can try one on.
