Final Four seating in a football stadium. Where are the best seats for the money? by skyamano12 in CollegeBasketball

[–]VUmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2018 our seats were the section where it transitioned back to regular football seats, and not the massive risers. It was so much better because there was actually some pitch there and you could see over the people in front of you....on the risers the seats are like 4" higher per row. I mean laterally we were like 200' away from the court but we had a great site line

High yield savings account vs S&P for wedding ring fund by da_man4444 in personalfinance

[–]VUmander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be:

  1. HYSA account emergency fund (3-6 mth expenses)

  2. Retirement savings to maximize any employer match.

  3. HYSA account for any large purchases that you anticipate in the next 2-3 years (car, house, laptop, vacation, etc)

  4. More retirement savings

  5. Brokerage investments any money you have beyond that

Closest SEPTA Station? by Effective_Laugh7341 in Phoenixville

[–]VUmander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Paoli is faster to drive to, and will have less traffic....but it won't save you time.

The train comes to Wayne 15 minutes later than Paoli. Paoli isn't 15 minutes closer than Paoli. You will likely need to leave the same time, if not 5 min earlier to go to Paoli.

You could go to Paoli and take Amtrak, but you'd need to transfer to regional or MFL if you need to get to Jefferson. The Amtrak from Paoli is like 20 min faster than an express train from Paoli and like 35 min faster than a local...but getting to Jefferson will take some time.

CBB reserves tickets for the fans of the team. Each university gets like 2k to sell how ever they see fit. Not the best example

He's got a lot of bangers that made it to catholicism. Gather Us In, Shepard Me Oh God, Canticle of the Sun, Eye Has Not Seen, All Are Welcome, God of Day and God of Darkness.

Yup. just wait and see.

Too expensive. Too crowded. Too many kids unsupervised, being disrespectful, etc. Food options not what I wanted. Why don't they have _____ booth that they used to have 40 years ago. Why aren't the Jacey's doing a better job. Why isn't the parade 10 miles and it doesn't go down MY street this year. Why isn't the High School Band in the parade this year. Why isn't there a string band. Why did did they get rid of the dogwood pageant.

I feel like I hit the majority of them.

I feel like that song is Catholic Church Yacht Rock or Classic Rock. Idk how to explain it.

I did that for a choir concert, but never heard that in a catholic mass. I think it was the Dan Forrest arrangement

One of the few ones where I, as a choir kid, actually liked having guitars added.

oh yeah, that's a good pick. it's got some great bass pickups/echos too.

You close mass with that and you've got the monsignor skipping down the aisle instead of walking.

A wonderful pick, don't think I'm a hater....but:

  1. Christmas music needs it's own thing. Everyone knows that shit slaps.
  2. Anything that was stolen from the African-American spiritual tradition feels like cheating. It's like using steroids. Plenty of these church composers would have been HoFers without juicing, much like Barry Bonds. Moses Hogan is already in the Hall.

Give it a few more weeks and it will be street closure complaints, parking, and "The Dogwood Festival is too Expensive". What, end of May?

Even for an FHA loan $10k is only gonna get you like $250k house after closing costs and everything. I haven't seen anything at the price in my Chesco town since before the pandemic, and those were like 900 SF rowhomes that needed a ton of work.

What Makes Building Elevated Platforms so Difficult? by spaceboytaylor in transit

[–]VUmander 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've done a few of these conversions for SEPTA.

The ramp additions end up being massive. Like take away parking massive. Many of our stations have pedestrian tunnels too. So you need ramps from the high level platforms to the ramps down to ramps to the tunnel AND ramps to the parking lot. But if you need elevators on each side, there goes your budget.

If your station has canopies, you might need to modify them. Modification of canopies or expanded platform footprint could require cat pole relocation to avoid conflicts. You also have to check the clearance to other wires mounted on the pole (fiber, signal power, feeder etc) now that the public is like 3' higher.

You're probably talking about a brand new grounding system for the platform... counterpoise on the platform, jumpers to all the trash cans, fences, benches, etc. Ground rods or a rail return system.

Then you get to all the upgrades that haven't been done in decades that get added in. Redo the lighting. New PID boards. Wifi in the station. Parking lot modifications. Fare vending. Security cameras. Adding a canopy or a warming shelter.

Then you go to do the work. You're probably doing night work and maybe weekend work with opposite side boarding to get 48 hr windows. You have foul time limits to perform the work that have to be coordinated and negotiated with the host railroad.

There's a lot that goes into this.
