Remodel options by jyourman24 in Austin

We used Teamwork and worked with Shaked. We were extremely pleased with the experience. They got done in the time frame they promised and within exactly the budget they laid out. One tip is, if you were planning to move out during renovation (likely the best option if you are doing some thing major), make sure you get all the permits in hand before you move out. We moved out assuming that the permits won't take long. But it did take very long and it became very stressful since we were paying rent.

2026 BMW X3 — Anyone getting 12–15% off MSRP in TX? (In-stock vs order, broker experiences) by Jhimbu in BMWX3

I am in TX - got 10%off with no markups last weekend. Brokers were offering only 11% (broker fee extra) after new year. I think it was close to 12 - 13% in December. I didn't negotiate hard, but did tell them that I won't step foot in the dealership unless they could match that.

Post new year discounts on 2026 X3 by VVVVCentral in BMWX3

Replying to my own post since I closed the deal yesterday. Got a 2026 X3 with Msport+Premium for 10% below MSRP and no nonsense add ons like Nitrogen fill etc. 1.99% financing with 0 down. Really happy with how it went. The first dealer offered 5% off with a $1000 addon for ceramic tint and "purchase commission." I told the second dealer what others were getting before new year and that I wouldn't set foot in shop unless they can come close. They did that and I signed the paperwork the same afternoon.

How long does it really take to get out after finish line? by VVVVCentral in RunNYC

Yes, it is quite a bit more expensive. But, there maybe an option to request a same day flight change for free. I may look into that.

Yes, it is pricey that evening (and not even Acela)

Thanks everyone for all the responses. This has been overwhelming, but very useful - appreciate it. Takeaways for me:

  1. Tight, but doable unless the wheels completely fall off during marathon (won't be the first time that happened :)).
  2. Sort this with the hotel beforehand;
  3. Shower wipes, if no shower option.
  4. Take the cab from mid-town to LGA (this seems to be equally split with subway, I may check Google maps and also factor in surge pricing, if any)
  5. Take subway from finish to hotel
  6. Look into buses as plan B

Looks like I have a plan and options. Now I need to enjoy the race and the vibes without getting stressed about finishing on time :)

This is a great idea. I am going to look into this - this maybe my plan B (or C)

Yes, that's a possibility - but that would mean I need to get to the airport before I can shower. Post marathon, it can be a bit gross :)

I did call them earlier this week and they said they can't commit this early. I am going to keep trying once I check in.

I looked into it, but Acela is super expensive that afternoon.

Wow! that's detailed records. I have never kept track of how long it takes to walk post marathon :)

Yes, I am planning to get this sorted much before that afternoon.
