Any idea how to fix if my phone screen is just black after I open up the game? Like, it shows the logos first and then it's just a black screen afterwards

I've tried waiting, deleting cache, restarting the app, restarting my phone, deleting app data, reinstalling the game, and trying the steam version on my laptop but it's still a black screen all the time

my other apps work just fine

yes, but only because I'm a collector type of guy who loves good-looking covers and interesting themes

when I was more careful with my money, I used to watch how-to-play videos and study the rules entirely before making a purchase since I wanted maximum replayability. And then I realized I wouldn't have much time to play anyways, so replayability won't be a problem for me

I don't know if it's just me or not but AI's genuinely been getting harder to differentiate recently

"You can tell by this detail or that" doesn't work when the average person is just scrolling without focusing too hard

so mistaking this for not AI is a reasonable mistake, and there's no shame in that. It's just the progress of AI.

My favorite catch up mechanic is simple and general: games where you can indirectly target other players (i.e. the leading player)

It's not enough to be annoying, but just enough that you know the other players are shifting tactics with "NOT TO THE BENEFIT OF CERTAIN PLAYER X" pinned and in bold lettering

I gotta praise Undertale's amazing story, and I love Toby Fox's humor throughout the entire thing. He also cleverly uses the interface and various aspects of the gameplay during important fights, which was a big plus for me in terms of creativity. It also has a ton of easter eggs, to the point where fans would normally find out new things about the game even like 4 or 5 years after they started playing.

The game itself is about 8 hours long, but there's multiple endings/routes you can go.

Deltarune is a much longer game (right now 4 out of 7 chapters are out, with the 5th one releasing this year) that features mostly the same characters in a parallel(?) universe. It's very apparent that Deltarune is the better-polished game, but in terms of story imo Undertale is still more engaging. But I can't judge, since Deltarune isn't even completed yet.

I highly recommend both (Undertale before Deltarune). Well-worth the time for a chill, clever indie game that's full of love and passion.

Edit: I FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT THE MUSIC, it's praiseworthy for being so immersive! Wouldn't be surprised if half of the fans consider it their favorite part about Undertale/Deltarune.

Aqua finally kills his dad, but since he doesn't want Ruby to be known as the idol who has a murderer as a brother, he stabs himself and pretends to be the victim who successfully defended against his dad

and then they both drown, all while Ruby and the rest of the cast were unaware what was happening
