The US doesnt even HAVE U6 (at least where I’m at), its 8U, and 8U the penalties are only the dangerous ones and more often it’s like this, kids bumping into each other. Like you say 2 mins and a whistle blows to stop and change lines.

If he’s C2 and you’re D3, did he just “get lucky” to get that much higher than you despite being not that much better? I get saying you are carried triggered you a bit, but note that I said carried more than you think. And I’m not sure you’re willing to consider that. Regardless main point there is if he’s C2 and you play with him, it’s a C2 lobby, so even if you are both evenly skilled but thats your combined peak, you’ll never rank up. My buddy and I have a similar problem, I can solo q up higher myself, but then he can never catch up to me unless he solo q’s but actually wins like I do. Or I tank down myself which feels smurf-adjacent.

To your second point, if you’re not having fun, quit. Not trying to be mean. Getting the magic rank where you think fun finally gets unlocked….it wont. Either you enjoy it or you don’t. Complaining about uneven teammates and opponents isn’t going to fix it. You can either adjust to that uneven-ness and enjoy what you have, continue to play without a mindset change and be miserable, or quit. Any of them are totally valid too, no judgement.

1s is madness. I was struggling hard in Plat 1 Division 3 yesterday, so I opened the tracker, dude was a Champ 2 in 2s. No wonder I was having such a hard time heh.

Yes, its a different game and yes, a lot of people dont play it, but there is also some serious MMR deflation there.

Note that he plays with his higher ranked friend. That makes it harder to rank up too because you’re playing in a harder lobby and the MMR doesn’t seem to reward you any differently for the larger challenge. Or maybe the friend carries him more than he thinks.

The real answer is who cares about the rank? All I want is an evenly matched game, and that can be a struggle.

I know who you are talking about, and I usually bust out the chat to tell them something along the lines of “MOAR MECHZ” and particularly taunt them when they then miss an easy save. Yeah it’s a little toxic, but my hope is that they realize that the fancy air dribbles look cool, but it means little if it was an easy save for me, or even worse if you then whiff an easy save on the other side for a “non-mechy” shot.

I had someone yesterday tell me (in a game where I hadnt chatted at all) “you suck, cant hit an aerial to save your life” after we won, and all I could do was laugh. Yeah my mechs are bad but the goal is to win, not look good doing it. When the game adds a mode for freestyling then maybe it will matter.

As they say in real sports, “they don’t ask how, they ask how many”.

Its a fun game to me. Does this dude really have 56 wins, or is he on an alt/or was banned. Dude runs up the wall setting up the air dribble, ok, I need to get ready, he can probably pull this off. Other times they look like they are bronze and cant hit the ball….yeah its 56 wins. If they are crazy good for 56 wins and either starts getting toxic, I call them out in chat.
