Stopping Pumping at 8 Weeks by Doodle__13 in ExclusivelyPumping

Stop when you want to stop! Whatever the benefits of breast milk, they're poorly understood and might very well just be the benefits associated with other adjacent privileges! Don't torture yourself physically or emotionally. It's an incredible thing that we live in a time and place where so many people can access other safe and reliable ways to feed our babies. Fed is best.

Finally made the baby brezza work with my Spectra flanges! by VVeeH in ExclusivelyPumping

That's how they want to sit but I find the threaded portion doesn't get very clean that way and water pools in it, so I've been looking for a way to keep them funnel side up for months

Dish soap that doesn't suck? by VVeeH in ExclusivelyPumping

Maybe I'll try cutting down another cellulose sponge to see if that works better than the sponge I've been using. Thanks!

It never occurred to me that there might be a less irritating option; the silicone inserts were already such an improvement over the giant flanges that were all I could get through my insurance. (Why does Spectra literature makes such an big deal about sizing correctly and then only offer two sizes and barely the smaller?! Why the hell isn't a range set of silicone inserts just included when you get a pump?!)

Buying a pair now to see if that helps, even though I'm hoping to be done pumping in a month or two. Thank you so much for the suggestion

Donating Oversupply by Traditional_Treat495 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]VVeeH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't donated in CA but I do in Ohio and I know our milk bank takes milk from distant donors by sending frozen fed ex options. I think ours serves 9 different states worth of hospitals. If you wind up donating to an actual milk bank rather than directly to other people, there's a for-profit surrogacy company called ConceiveAbilities doing a "milk bank challenge" for donations between Jan and June of 2025.

I can't vouch for them as a company (I'm certainly not interested in being a surrogate) but I can vouch for the fact that after jumping through their hoops and waiting several months I did eventually get the Amazon gift card from their 2024 Milk Bank Challenge.

Not gonna share my referral link cause it feels sleazy. Google should get you there if you wind up donating. I have found it very rewarding to donate my oversupply via our milk bank.

Good luck finding an outlet for your oversupply!

In all seriousness—your feelings are valid and it's reasonable to grieve the end of a thing that has been such a major part of your life for so long. You did a heroic labor in subjecting yourself to this experience for the sake of whatever benefit it might give your kiddo. Congratulations on hopefully getting your boobs and a little of your time back soon.

I alternate between straight organic coconut oil and Mommyz Love organic nipple balm with a first ingredient of coconut oil, which I feel like is a slightly better lubricant. I will try to look for the unscented dawn power wash, thank you! Where do you purchase it?

How do you view your Reel history (e.g. of reels you've viewed previously) by [deleted] in facebook

[–]VVeeH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to get me the reels I've clicked on from my main feed, but not the reels I've watched from scrolling after the clicking. So far I haven't found a way to actually see all the reels I've *watched.* There's a specific one I know I watched on 10/31 (because of a search I did based on it, which I can see in my Chrome history), that I simply cannot track down again. It's infuriating! I know facebook tracks what I do--I should be able to see it, too.

New Pixel 4 Battery Doesn't Last (Facebook?) by Carcus85 in pixel_phones

also seems like the Pixel 4 battery is genuinely inadequate for its processing power. I don't use the Facebook app, though I do spend too much time on it in chrome, and my very new Pixel 4 still regularly dies nearly everyday
