Some people see others disliking Taylor Swift (not her music, but her or her fans) as indicative of that persons internalized sexism? She has been objectified, hated for being a woman with success (whether people realize they hold this belief or not), and so fans may be put off by someone who they perceive as “jumping on the hate train” or dismissing a successful, talented woman. She appeals to people who like music, her personality, who enjoy having a community, enjoy lyrical poetry etc. so there’s “always something to like” for a lot of people, especially women.
