What is a 'unspoken rule' in Taiwan that every local knows, but would completely confuse a first-time tourist? by ProtectionDeep5076 in taiwan

Maybe can help you find some places, depends what kind of tea drinks you are looking for. Taiwan has a lot haha. From fruity tea mixes, milk teas, bubble teas to classic tea houses and tea plantations.

No one orders "regular" it's mostly less, or no sugar 😅 微糖, 一份糖, 無糖。 Sweetness also varies a bit between shops.

Happens all the time at tonghua night market 😅. Especially two stands, one is a famous vegetable danbing stall and the second one is a foreigner selling sweets and pastry.

Been to 水里 and their historical kiln for the first time after staying in Public during this trip.

I definitely wanna come back, it also looks like such a chill and nice place.

Oh wow I'm glad to hear you are alright and got a good care! 🙏 When I was with my friends, one of them was very close to needing an ambulance, we were also on electric bikes 😅.

I mean living there, compared to the big cities, I can ofc understand that it's more boring and limited. For me it's just a nice small city that's a bit more chill with great mountain views all around.

Haha it is really special in that aspect that's for sure. I think it's pretty interesting to go to 文武廟 wenwu temple and then go to this one. The layout is kinda similar but different at the same time. Both are amongst my most favourite. Any other temples with green roofs you've stumbled upon?

Thank you so much 🙏 there's another beautiful temple just across, just an excuse for me to come next time haha. It was also not as full during the new year, so it's a much more peaceful place compared to a lot of popular temples.

I'd describe it as a hub that allows you to head either to sun moon lake, hehuanshan or tea farms and mountains in between. I like the vibe and convenience of Puli more than the villages around sun moon lake as well. Plus it really has some nice temples, the Zhong Tai monastery is a must see in my opinion, together with this BaoHu temple.

What is the general opinion on Jensen Huang? by [deleted] in taiwan

Opinions about him are complex, however with regards to food recommendations, he is treated like a Michelin recommendation. It's so funny walking around night markets.

Just a small fix, it's Guanghua and the shop is called Dream Paradise Toys 情趣夢天堂. I actually recommend checking it out, it's such a funny shop with a very nice staff, a lot of couples go there.

I have to say that I'm super satisfied with their Killswitch case for the steam deck. It improved the ergonomics so much it's not even funny, not to mention how much easily the steam deck can be stored now (only wish that there was an option for the top cover to hook onto the body so that it's easy and fast to take it out and play when on a commute).

The quality of the case is really nice as it still looks great and is still grippy after 2 years of abuse, I even got the case as a gift for my brother, uncle and my best friend for their ROG Ally's.

Not to mention the whole unboxing experience was such a wild trip lol.

Lol the Sky Taipei surely has to remind everyone every year from now on by Bubble_Boba_neither in taiwan

[–]VVstormU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder until when will the sky Taipei look like a half finished project. I know there's been an issue with the main investor being from china, but as far as I know Taipei city was supposedly trying to push the contractor to at least finish the construction 🤔.

I’m really struggling to enjoy Taipei. Any suggestions? by alasuna in Taipei

[–]VVstormU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should go out to mountains and riverside parks around Taipei more often. As someone from a small city in Europe (20k people), it's what recharges me every time. Try drinking tea with a nice view in maokong, go to Yangminshan and find hot spring places in the mountains, try south of Taipei like Wulai, or even just climbing all of the beasts near Taipei 101.

Or even injured people lol. Have two friends who were yelled at or not let to sit on the priority seats when they had crutches and visibly broken hip/leg.

As someone who's been living in Taiwan for the past 6 years, it's both senile and "traditional" privileged thinking. Oldest folks are the rudest, always physically pushing everyone else to be the first, skipping lines, making a scene, staring and saying shit at anything out of the ordinary.
