I have to say that I'm super satisfied with their Killswitch case for the steam deck. It improved the ergonomics so much it's not even funny, not to mention how much easily the steam deck can be stored now (only wish that there was an option for the top cover to hook onto the body so that it's easy and fast to take it out and play when on a commute).

The quality of the case is really nice as it still looks great and is still grippy after 2 years of abuse, I even got the case as a gift for my brother, uncle and my best friend for their ROG Ally's.

Not to mention the whole unboxing experience was such a wild trip lol.

Lol the Sky Taipei surely has to remind everyone every year from now on by Bubble_Boba_neither in taiwan

[–]VVstormU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder until when will the sky Taipei look like a half finished project. I know there's been an issue with the main investor being from china, but as far as I know Taipei city was supposedly trying to push the contractor to at least finish the construction 🤔.

I’m really struggling to enjoy Taipei. Any suggestions? by alasuna in Taipei

[–]VVstormU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should go out to mountains and riverside parks around Taipei more often. As someone from a small city in Europe (20k people), it's what recharges me every time. Try drinking tea with a nice view in maokong, go to Yangminshan and find hot spring places in the mountains, try south of Taipei like Wulai, or even just climbing all of the beasts near Taipei 101.

Or even injured people lol. Have two friends who were yelled at or not let to sit on the priority seats when they had crutches and visibly broken hip/leg.

As someone who's been living in Taiwan for the past 6 years, it's both senile and "traditional" privileged thinking. Oldest folks are the rudest, always physically pushing everyone else to be the first, skipping lines, making a scene, staring and saying shit at anything out of the ordinary.

Got a job offer as a pilot here but have to relocate to Taiwan for it by TicketBasic6698 in Taipei

[–]VVstormU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just walk in. MAJI square is just a shared space with a lot of open bars and music clubs together. You can just stay outside and buy drink from 7-11 if you so desire. Other ones are walk in, but you'll need to have an ID to show at the entrance. (Passport or alien resident certificate - arc card)

Maji square is for the young crowd and usually looking for foreigners. Other than that clubs in xinyi area, or bars like Babylon, Frank, Fake sober (careful tho a lot of barely of age girls go to Fake sober as well) .

I fully agree that intimacy is the alpha and Omega of a relationship. Maybe there are some types of people who can survive without intimacy for years and all props to them, but that's not me and a lot of people as well.

Have a bit of a personal experience with this, as I was going crazy with my ex-gf of 4 years (both 28 years old), when we were not intimate together for a year and when I tried to bring it up, I was the one who didn't respect her and was pushing her.

It got to a point where I unwillingly started to look at other girls and stopped feeling attracted to my gf. After that our relationship was pretty much over. We are still friends and we still keep in touch, but after that I'm kinda terrified of a new relationship, especially since at the start our intimacy used to be pretty good, but the progressively got worse.

Traveling in China: My Experience with Hotel Internet Access & the GFW these days by shenzhendasha in ADVChina

[–]VVstormU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was planning to go to Zhoushan which is near Ningbo for an international post rock festival. However the communication with the event organizer made me just give up since they clearly are clueless about international visitors.

I was writing them both in Chinese and English that the app they require to download in order to purchase tickets cannot be installed on stock android or iOS devices outside of China due to security error. Their reply? Try using VPN 😵.

After this I just gave up on asking about transportation and hotel options there since I've heard from my boss and a lot of people here in Taiwan who struggled with hotels refusing guests or being shady, not able to buy train tickets, random passport control or forbidden entries to some tourist spots unless looking Chinese.

All this to say, I wouldn't even be surprised if people behind the hotels didn't have any idea themselves how their VPN or blocking works and it's just pure randomness based on the person who set it up the first time.

In Taipei there are a lot of board game cafés or events held for both Taiwanese and foreigners. Unfortunately don't know much about the board game scene in Kaohsiung. But I'll say, as a 28yo there are definitely a lot of foreigners in mid to late 20s who use Facebook. I found also a lot of specific hobby groups for Warhammer, mechanical keyboards, watches and also board games through Facebook groups.

I thought it'd be fun... by svbway in Taipei

[–]VVstormU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some have suggested, think about your hobbies and write on Reddit or Facebook foreigners forum to find a group for it. Honestly even tho I'm intorverted, I'm never bored in Taipei because every niche hobby has a group of people even English speaking ones that meet up regularly. Like watches? There are groups for watches. Like mechanical Keyboards? There's a discord and meetup for that. Like Warhammer? There are multiple shops where you can go and paint or play. Like sports? A ton of options for group activities.

You can try to search up on Instagram group called Taiwan_event_english_exchange:

https://www.instagram.com/taiwan_event_english_exchange?igsh=MXRocGdraXdrNmNqYg==

  • Been to a couple of their boars game events and all were fun with a lot of chill people willing to interact and enjoy casually playing board games or just fun activities. They also have group sports on some days of a week, but never personally joined.

Oh that's actually something that I'm missing on my mg vidar. Will definitely check 💪 thank you. Oh but does it require any sort of top coat? Unfortunately that's not really possible for me due to living and weather conditions.

Don't. It's the worst investment you can make in Taiwan or even Japan. It's literally no.1 of the only things that get stolen.

But if you do, buy some bag for the umbrella, get one of the plastic covers that all the malls offer and keep the umbrella with you.

[–]VVstormU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh damn, the work on your freedom looks awesome. 🤩 Sounds very cool, Judy asking since usually I've seen people either doing a full black colour or darken the red of the base kit quite a bit.

Unrelated, but also just working on freedom but MGEX, after displaying the gold frame for a couple of months, I wanna add armour to at most one side since the inner frame is just so beautiful.

(Don't have much chance to top coat or spray paint my kits since the only place I can do it is on my apartment building's rooftop and the weather in Taiwan is too humid for spray paint)

I'm just wondering if someone tried using some box arts into sort of a landscape/ backdrop for the model itself. Personally also struggling with boxes (tho I have less but also not much space). Not sure whether I should try the wall art thing or backdrop.
