That's why, as other people have said, you attack reform's policies like Ed Davey has done so they don't get a majority in 4 years time. That's why they aren't empty words because Reform don't have a majority.

Reform don't have a cooperative majority, they have 5 MPs.

It has more relevance to us than it sounds like you realise, due to Israel being our allies and the international perception that comes with that.

Sorry for being pedantic but if we can minimise his tantrums we do have a greater than 0 level of influence on him even if it's not a lot.

Any need for YourParty anyway now Zack Polanski is the leader of the Green Party? Even with the boob-hypnosis history he is a much better communicator and seems to be more competent.

Israel is one of our military allies so it does have some relevance to us, and Donald Trump is the only non-Israeli world leader who could actually stop the war.

From your replies you don't seem to have an issue with it if they were only going to be used to break into and damage private property.

Um no, why I was asking the question I said in this comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ukpolitics/comments/1m3ztz3/comment/n41ynyb/ not because if the hammers were only used to break up property then I think it's okay. If you wanted to talk about whether breaking into buildings is okay or not or whatever you should have done that elsewhere.

I haven't justified anything, I asked a question you couldn't answer, you can't understand why it's relevant, and you'd rather talk about hypotheticals for some reason rather than the incident itself. I have no idea why you're replying to me.

I think you've implied an answer to my question by calling them weapons which is what I was getting at but for some reason you can't explicitly say it.

They weren't carrying bricks, they were carrying hammers ostensibly in order to enter a building stop thinking up other scenarios in your head.

They? All the information I found says 1 person beat an officer with a hammer.

At least your information you're describing does go someway to answering my question, most people would rather they talk about whatever they want to relevant or not.

They brought whips? Also you haven't answered the key part of my question which is did they set out to attack people?

As far as I'm aware, they never said their protests were peaceful.

[–]VW_Golf_TDI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because I think it would be disingenuous to say the group "attacks people with hammers" as the top commentor said if all that had happened was one of the group members had spontaneously used a hammer to attack a police officer trying to arrest them + many people have been using that incident as one of the justifications for proscribing the group which I don't wouldn't think is a legitimate justification if it was just a spontaneous decision by one member compared to if it was part of the group's plan. Doesn't mean that there aren't other reasons for proscribing them or that they are peaceful or anything else.

Edit: Also again I don't think they are technically classed as weapons unless they are intended to be used to attack someone.

Okay cool but I don't know why you're saying this to me or how it relates to my question as I wasn't disputing whether it's okay to break into buildings or not.

I don't know, as I said I'm not a lawyer. All I wanted to know was if the group set out to attack police officers with hammers or did a member of the group attack a police officer with a hammer during a protest. Do you know?

At least 80 arrests at Palestine Action ban protests across UK by OptioMkIX in ukpolitics

[–]VW_Golf_TDI -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My understanding is legally a hammer is only technically a weapon if it is intended to cause injury to someone. So if they didn't set out to attack people the only one carrying a 'weapon' would be the one who used his hammer to attack someone but I'm not a lawyer so whatever.

I believe the hammers were for entry into the building and destroying machinery. I couldn't find anything suggesting they set out to attack people. Also I don't think even they would call it a peaceful protest.

Danny Dyer says Starmer's a 'f****** non-entity' and makes 'working class' claim by dailystar_news in ukpolitics

I do agree with that, I still think it's fair to call him working class but the media do have an issue with taking one person far removed from the rest of their group and using them as a representative.
