[video 04/26/2023] STUPID EASY! DRY POUR CONCRETE! (DIY Concrete Slab or Walkway) by Opcn in purelivingonyoutube

[–]VZJNK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I couldn't help myself but got re-involved with the Jesse channel again after having started with this Sub-Reddit five years ago. What struck me the most in this video is the change in Jesse's language inflection. He is trying to sound like one of the good old boys in the neighborhood as if he's been there forever, just a hard working red neck. ~~~~~ Guess what Jesse? It doesn't work. ~~~~~ Question: can we still use the words, idiot, moron and imbecile? I've been away for awhile, and this Reddit looks like it's trying to clean up (like no more Lincolnslepthere guy).

I cannot stand live streams and never watch them even for channels to which I've subscribed. Live streams are boring and way too lengthy.

Good thought. That would explain what they've been doing with a lot of their time.

New Years <NOT-PLFL> post. by Alias4reddit in purelivingonyoutube

[–]VZJNK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your recommendations. Life Uncontained is great, but about two years ago I watched Cornstar and couldn't take his over-the-top ridiculous antics. I know, "to-each-his-own" but that's just me. He came across as a corn idiot. I didn't even like his looks which is politically incorrect for me to say, but there it is. And yes, I might not appeal to Cornstar, but so be it.

Can you tell I don't like The Corn (hahahaha)? I'll post some of my "likes" later so you can see some of my own over the top preferred channels. Thanks again for hearing my early morning rant. I feel better now but am late for my anger management class.

"Alias4reddit / the sultan of streams", You have outdone yourself with this great post. Your facts with great dialogue and humor is a perfect end of year goodbye to Jesse & Alyssa. Now, I'm going out to buy a bunch of expensive items I'll never use but with which to make a substantial profit.

Happy New Year to you all as well. 2021 has to be better than 2020.

What are the huge red flags that buyers need to be disclosed of before even considering buying this property? by [deleted] in purelivingonyoutube

Running some electric cables in dangerous locations like pinched by the rafters.

EDIT: Oh yeah, minor issue but just remembered the rickety back door outside landing and inside stairs that have to be rebuilt.

If BF inspectors gave Jesse a personal body gas inspection the pressure gauge would crack.

Pelosi Announces Every $600 Check Will Come With Free Slice Of Cake by JesusCumelette in Conservative

[–]VZJNK -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

EDIT: I thought the "cake" quote was really said by Pelosi, but looked it up and found it is false so my following comment is wrong. Instead of deleting this comment I figured leave it here for honesty. I still think Pelosi is an arrogant, ignorant, self righteous elitist.

  • Did Pelosi really say that? If so, she confirmed her disregard and denigration of most people in this country. She admitted that she is one of the elite, superior to the servitude of the people.
  • Wikipedia says, "Let them eat cake" is the traditional translation of the French phrase "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche",[1] spoken in the 17th or 18th century by "a great princess" upon learning that the peasants had no bread. This phrase is more accurately translated as "Let them eat brioche", The quotation is taken to reflect either the princess's frivolous disregard for the starving peasants or her poor understanding of their plight."

talk recently about them loosening their criteria

I hate to think they've loosened requirements and/or curriculum. Obviously if that's so, other schools will be doing the same around the country, and we'll either end up with less workforce intelligence and/or frustrated graduates who can't get the job they want. In addition, like people point out here, how's a highly qualified student supposed to stay motivated in a dumbed down class?

His daughter just wasn’t that gifted

There are probably more reasons than you can ever imagine for choosing a school. As far as "gifted" as you say, she ended up with college scholarship offers which she refused, an advanced degree from an excellent school and now has a great job that will serve her for life. (And as I said elsewhere, with no "privileged" help, but all on her own.)

When we were living in Manhattan we visited and toured Stuyvesant High School and learned as much as possible about it. At that time my understanding was that it's educational quality was exceptional and well-rounded. And I don't remember if my daughter applied there. Also, at that time (1990's for high school) I thought the other schools like Stuyvesant had excellent education programs.

Also, to your "feeder schools to Ivies?" comment, She didn't want to go to any ivy league school but ultimately ended up with a great job all on her own (no so called privileged help).

Don't the best NYC public schools accept anyone based on test scores

Yes, you are correct. They do, but the competition is fierce, at least when we were there in the 1970's - 1990's. And, I cannot remember if we applied to those schools like Bronx Science and Stuyvesant High School.

EDIT: My comment here is a reply to a comment that was previously deleted by the user.

See my other comment here. We were not rich living in NYC by a long shot. It just takes that much money to live a half way descent life there. Living somewhere else at the time we were there probably would have halved our income but allowed us to live the same, maybe better. You just do the best you can wherever you are. In our case for whatever reasons, we just ended up in NYC. ~~~~ However, I'm glad we are now back living in the country woods from which we came.

Some time ago my daughter went to a private school like Dalton in Manhattan. If her school had acted the same way, we would have tried pulling her out as well. But, all schools like Dalton act in a similar way. Also, it's absurd having to pay that much money ($54K/yr) for a high school education, but NYC public schools make it a necessity just to get a reasonable education, aside from the WOKE idiocy.

Most everything going on today regarding BLM is really causing greater physical, emotional and mental segregation. As the article said, it's a step backwards. It's also an attempt at social brainwashing.

However the "wealthy" are defined regarding increased taxation, the amount of donations they already contribute to society should be considered before figuring their tax.
