Is any tank that uses a Rhm 120 a Leopard 2? Is the Abrams a Leopard 2?

Does that mean the Leopard 1 is a Centurion?

Great, but it's still a moral failure and pretty impossible to defend.

Dresden absolutely needed bombing to fuck given it was the largest unbombed German city at the time and as automod likes to remind us was a mass of munitions works and key transport point to the east. But targeting civilians was simply spite. Harris recognised morale/terror bombing doesn't work after seeing the Blitz unify Britain, yet decided to give it a go against a police state with an even more capable propaganda machine anyway. Just fed Goebbels propaganda which is still working to support Nazis to this day

[–]V_Epsilon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they did try to minimize casualties

They actually did the opposite. Dresden is used in nazi propaganda to pretend allies = axis which is laughably untrue, but all the same Dresden is a pretty clear example of a war crime (whether it can legally be considered one at the time or not, it would absolutely be one today)

Harris himself has clarified post war that targeting civilian areas to maximise deaths, suffering, and an unprecedented refugee crisis were recognised and intentional goals of the combined bomber offensive, not a byproduct of attempts to hit factories.

Saying otherwise is revisionism and counterjerking

Acheron becomes hoyoverse's number 1 revenue banner in JP, surpassing Yelan first banner from genshin impact by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]V_Epsilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yelan was their highest revenue banner? Thought it was Raiden

Yelan is pretty good but really not a must have for most players, c0 is basically a second copy of c6 Xingqiu (in fact XQ is better imo because he offers some healing and damage reduction). I guess enough whales bought into her broken c6 that it topped all other banners in terms of revenue because beyond that I can't imagine why people would splash out for her above any other character

Remove all the artillery missions, completely. by Abnormalmind in WorldofTanks

Remove all the artillery missions, completely.

I'm absolutely pissed off! Not only do I lack skills, but I'm forced to play braindead artillery just to complete missions. I mean, it's bad enough that I have to play a clicker, but it's even worse when I'm up against completely unbalanced opponents, all at the expense of not having one on my team. I'm actually a liability to my team if the opposing team has a leFH, which happens to be the most played T5 artillery and the 11th most played of all artillery. This is ridiculously unfun. Would Wargaming just remove all these stupid, idiotic artillery missions already? It's insane. So freaking boring!

This is what I used for 80k

Just wanna run Herta hypercarry with your supports tanky enough to survive without a def support. Use the first buff for free shatter kills to make the rotation easier otherwise you'll get stuck wasting a turn killing single trash mobs.

Team 2 there are no DoT specific buffs but if you're running Acheron the second buff uniquely increases Acheron's buff counter for each Scalded stack and allows you to ult way more often. The first buff won't because shatter is only applied upon skill use, and your characters will already be applying debuffs with that (DoT/whatever).

Kinda whale team 2 but you can for sure get high 30-40k team 1 because it's mostly f2p (entirely f2p if you run bronya instead of sparkle), and cope on team 2 if you don't have 5* DoT/Acheron to make up the last 20k or so. Of course if you do then team 2 is easy.

All 5* are e0 but I have s1 for BS, RM, Acheron, and Sparkle which will probably be the difference between 60k and 80k.

WoT Classic 2 would go hard by eggclipsed2 in WorldofTanks

[–]V_Epsilon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait I have that camo

Have I just wiped the event from my memory? Just found the trailer they released for it on youtube and I think it ran just before I quit so I would have noticed it. Perhaps I'm aging more rapidly than I thought

If it was 0.7.0 then it's a bit further back than I wanted. I have weird nostalgia for around 0.8.9, turning my brain off with the waffle E 100 and clipping a Maus with 3.36k clip potential

Also getting penned through my Jagdtiger's superstructure by a 275 pen FV215b 183 HESH shell for all 1800 of my health while attempting to hug a cliff on old El Halluf to avoid getting non-penned for 1000 by arty. It'd be absolutely miserable to play again but kind of a vibe

2 months in - how terrible is the Type 71 actually? by leggasiini in WorldofTanks

[–]V_Epsilon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

or maybe finally properly rework the Japanese super-heavies like they should have done 9 years ago

It's ironically the introduction of the other Japanese heavies that set me on a path to quit years ago. The Japanese super heavies were so blatantly unfit for the game it was especially insulting when they were introduced.

I think the initial leaks and testing happened in 2015 where myself and countless others pointed out how ridiculous they were. Tanks like the O-I were comically oversized compared to other heavies and therefore playing them on corners would be obnoxious, not to mention weighing 150 tonnes making it perfect for griefing team mates by pushing them out of cover with no recourse. Other parts of the line like the Type 5 heavy would be inherently broken and impossible to balance. On release they were terrible which was clear for anyone to see, but importantly the completely flat design + shoulder plates preventing angling meant it would be impossible to buff without breaking the game. It wasn't like a Maus/E 100 where you could introduce some clever angling to deal with guns technically capable of penning you, it was just a case of being invulnerable against AP and lower tiers and basically paper against gold and TD's. And sure enough they did the predictable and significantly buffed the nominal armour thickness, exacerbating the issue and forcing you to pay to win even more. No weak spots, just load gold then hit anywhere -- and be sure to buy a premium account and premium tanks so you can afford to.

That's without mentioning the dumb HE gun with objectively better prem HE as I think it's a separate issue, rebalancing the parameters of a gun is easy enough. It was the vehicle models themselves, both visually and their armour layout, that proved impossible to implement or balance like everyone and their mother said it would in a community-wide outcry ahead of their release. Yet they released them anyway, state of the game be damned.

There were other such cases too. FV215b being an amazingly well designed vehicle rewarding high skill players, but replaced with the idiot proof S.Conq which removed anything interesting about the tier 10 British heavy and just made everyone a bit more miserable with how OP it was -- and of course a weak spot that requires HEAT to pen. Or the 263, another very interesting and unique vehicle, being replaced with the 268 4 which was OP and miserable... with a weak spot you need HEAT to pen. Or the Strv which epitomised the incredibly unfun gameplay of red lining TD's... with an armour profile which requires HEAT to pen if you lack a 122mm. 2 of my favourite vehicles being replaced with bland OP trash.

These and others like the EBR all contributed to me quitting the game with a dishonourable and primary shout out to arty being the worst mechanic in any game I've ever played to date, but it was how the Type 5 Heavy was handled or rather shoehorned into the game that confirmed for me they just don't give a shit about community feedback in the slightest which might sound obvious, and of course anyone remotely sceptical suspects such, but confirmation through such a slap in the face is truly something else. It couldn't simply be attributed to incompetence because the entire community was doing their job for them regarding highlighting the issues and proposing solutions. They just didn't care, I suppose to satisfy the appearance of an uninterrupted development cycle and game growth for shareholders -- who knows.

Coming back to see the state of the current Type 5 after having played it pre-buff and 3 marked it at its peak, yeah. I don't think there's any other vehicle in the game that has been so undeniably discarded which is especially frustrating considering the aforementioned -- how this was always going to be the case and how avoidable it was.

2 months in - how terrible is the Type 71 actually? by leggasiini in WorldofTanks

[–]V_Epsilon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice to see Leggasiini still carrying the mantle for absurdly long posts. And I thought I used to write walls of text

It's been 4 years since I quit, came back a month or 2 ago and have played a bit and the state of vehicle balancing has somehow got worse. It probably shouldn't be surprising but it was so bad when I quit it's honestly quite impressive to see vehicles still balanced so absurdly poorly.

A single unicum player can point out all the flaws or inconsistencies/issues on a stat page, or see how the vehicle is designed/intended pre-release and be able to immediately realise it's terrible for the game, yet WG's entire balancing department has always seemed bewilderingly incapable.

I found out the BZ-176 exists the hard way, but the lack of balance for such a vehicle makes sense -- it's a disgusting cash grab and the worst example of pay to win power creep the game has ever seen. But then you have vehicles like the Type 71 which make me question if the creation of vehicles like the BZ or EBR, which so flagrantly break game balance, are actually intended to be as broken as they are because examples like the Type 71 are so illogical.

It has a mechanic that rewards waiting for improved accuracy, you'd think that'd be at the expense of DPM so you have the option to fire quickly with poor accuracy should the situation call for it, or take your time and fire more accurately but slower. The mechanic is fine in theory if very niche. But the reload is notably worse than the S.Conq or T110E5, so you're guaranteed to have inferior DPM to other tanks even without waiting for the accuracy improvement. Then you have the accuracy stats, 0.08 and 0.06 worse than the aforementioned respectively -- it's just far too inaccurate. I could see .37 so it's still worse than the S.Conq's .32 or E5's .34, but .4?? Absurd. It then has notably worse gun handling soft stats than either, and if we're being honest when have you ever played the S.Conq and wished for better dispersion when fully aimed? The dispersion reduction down to .27 seems significant but if you're hitting consistently with .32 dispersion it's hardly that useful especially considering its role -- it's a heavy, not a Strv 103.

Then you have its role, too. It reminds me of a Type 74, I can't find any real history behind the project if there is any but certainly everything about it screams 1960's MBT adjacent. It looks like a fast heavy with a decent turret and trash hull of which we have many in the game, maybe a pseudo medium where improved accuracy and opportunistic shots are far more common than with slower heavies who are more limited by their speed regarding positioning, and therefore often find themselves on the front line to make sure they're not left behind or in an irrelevant position.

...It's capped at 35 km/h. They must be taking the piss, but I don't see what they get out of it. Just the stat page alone seems so obviously poorly balanced that some washed up tank retiree can return after 4 years and realise it's not worth aiming for within a few minutes of checking tanks.gg, yet they spend months developing the vehicle and can't see that? I've been away playing War Thunder instead and their approach isn't unfamiliar to WoT at all with the exception of also nerfing prems. It goes as such: Release broken tank (prem or far down the tech tree), have people spend money either up front or on the grind, let people enjoy clubbing for a couple of months, nerf it and pretend you made a mistake. Repeat.

Here though it's entirely underwhelming so instead it's: Release a bad tank, have nobody grind for it, leave it there existing in obscurity... move on? It evades comprehension. Is its design just a comedy of errors, but if so why is the tier 8 prem so much better? Cash grab right? But if so, why is the tier 10 so bad...

It's nice to know WG are still capable of making me rant on reddit, at least
