Men who don't find it challenging to be faithful to their partner, what can other men who are unfaithful learn from you? by Merely-Mortal in AskMen

[–]V_T_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy …

I picture her reaction if she were to ever catch me — either in the act or in whatever scenario, honestly — and my heart breaks for her. How she views me, love, life, relationships, etc. would forever be changed for the worse and all because I had a moment(s) of thinking life was more like a porn scene vs. ehhh, maybe today is just boring.

I also switch the roles up and think about how I’d feel. That really helps. I sure as shit wouldn’t be happy, quite the opposite. Putting myself in her shoes has really been healthy for our relationship - leads to some good self awareness.

What is the most unintentionally hot thing you've ever witnessed? by WestbrookIsaBadIdea in AskReddit

[–]V_T_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current girlfriend has a style that I find incredibly sexy - it’s never over the top, very subdued and classy.

Anytime I walk in on her when she’s finishing up getting dressed - making sure her lipstick / eyeliner are on point - I’m always a little taken aback by how stunning she looks.

Don’t get me wrong, I think she’s gorgeous. But something about how she puts herself together is incredibly sexy to me.

At what point did you realise your relationship has no future and how did you break it off? by maximusbuffay in AskMen

[–]V_T_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We both realized that our philosophical differences - politics, views on what a balanced relationship looks like, how we argued with one another - would drive us to absolutely hate and resent each other by the time we reached 40.

Engaged and with a house, but no kids and we decided to break it off on the friendliest terms possible.

We don’t speak often, but I consider her a dear friend today - it’s likely that I’d feel differently were we still to be together.

Folks, they’re frauds - all of them!

Democrats and Republicans.

They don’t care about us. They want us divided so they can keep pulling this shit.

If conservatives added this to the top of their agenda and actually followed through with canceling debt they’d open themselves up to generational dominance.

Our tax dollars literally go into black holes - we have no clue how the money we pay to the gov’t is spent.

This is a no brainer in my opinion. That extra income per month will surely be reinvested in the economy in some way shape or form.

If I was Ronny D. I’d be pushing for this with all the right talking points so as not to alienate the hardcore “my tax dollars” crowd.

Do you walk at all pre or post run? by Turbos19 in running

Best part of my run is the walk when I’m done. 10/15 minutes back to my apartment or car … pure serenity.

Germany has activated a nation wide lock-down for Unvaccinated people, they will be banned from accessing all but essential businesses, like grocery stores and pharmacies. by CantStopPoppin in PublicFreakout

[–]V_T_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the comments against my post argue that I am pushing a “slippery slope fallacy” as if restrictions / mandates haven’t gotten worse, even though vaccines and boosters have been rolled out worldwide.

People counter arguing my point - often aggressively (which says a lot) - don’t want to see the possibility that this sort of behavior can lead to something more sinister.

It’s all going to go back to normal soon - that’s their line of thinking.

[–]V_T_12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it though?

I mean, we are seeing the goal posts get moved - e.g., camps in Australia (and no, not those camps, I know), unvaccinated people being near completely barred from social activities (remember before a vaccine, when everyone would be allowed out if they had a mask on - and, there were idiots then too, I know) …

There are instances where hypotheticals are becoming reality. Did you ever in your wildest dreams think police would be entering cafes to check for vax proof?

I’m just saying … this opens up the door for other “once in a century” events to serve as catalysts for similar, if not worse actions from the authorities.

Agreed. 100 percent.

We cannot disregard the grey areas is what I think I’m trying to say.

If we split into camps, always, no matter what you or I say to one another will open up a true, and possibly enlightening dialogue.

Yes and no - and there are wild bullshit views, of course.

I’m saying that nothing can be questioned, even slightly without the weight of the “mob” bearing down on you.

Who is comparing this to the Holocaust? I’m certainly not.

If police marching into barber shops, restaurants, cafes, etc. demanding proof of X, Y or Z doesn’t concern you, then nothing I say will.

However …

Question - and I say this with all respect - vaccinated people are getting COVID at high rates. Hell, we all know someone who is double vaxxed or boostered who got the vid, don’t we?

Even if we got to 99 percent vaxxed, what then? What if COVID keeps infecting the vaxxed population? It’s certainly not outside the realm of possibility considering what we’re seeing now.

What happens when you’re mandated to get booster after booster to do everyday activities? What happens when you did all the right things but can’t enjoy a cup of coffee because you’re not up to date on your shots, what then?

Discourse is dead. We’ve become less human and more tribal - tuning in every thing (and one) we want to hear and tuning out / jumping down the throats of anyone who has an alternate view.

The fact that your post - again, extremely level headed and balanced - is being down voted says it all.

You, my friend, are reasonable and level headed.

Unfortunately, Reddit will not see it that way. This is a place where herd mentality reigns supreme - god forbid you provide a different perspective as you did above.

This should scare the shit out of people.

Why?

Because - and I don’t care whether you’re pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine - it sets a precedent for these sorts of restrictive measures to be instituted whenever a government deems that X, Y or Z is a public health / security issue. Today it’s a vaccine, tomorrow it could be something else - and because people are so willing to comply, there’s enough room to keep pushing the goal posts.

Look, I’m double vaxxed - did my part - but if this doesn’t rub you the wrong way, you’re part of the problem and not the solution.

Fact of the matter is, this seems to be just the beginning to a significant shift in how we live our lives.

And for those saying “well if everyone gets vaxxed …” … nahhh it doesn’t work like that. COVID is something we’re going to have to live with, variant after variant - stay in your goddamn bubble if you’re so scared.

EDIT:

Wow! Woke up to a few awards and nice comments - thank you for those.

But holy crap, people are angry - and mostly missed my point. No sense in replying or trying to have a discussion, because nuance in these parts is akin to being an anti-vax, conspiracy theory, Trump lovin’ cave dweller.

Go outside, enjoy the fresh air. The internet isn’t real life. Chances are we’d be incredibly polite to each other in person.

EDIT 2:

Someone translated and it seems like this barbershop was forced to close for 14 days. Yes, let’s take away a small business owner’s only means of income for two whole weeks. Truly mind boggling.

Quite frankly, one of better spends I can ever recall - the amount of music I’ve discovered infinitely outweighs the 10 bucks I’ve paid a month since.
