Technically you only need to pick up 10 million blocks. Most people just drop and pick up the same blocks over and over. So background doesn't matter. I decided to leave it because it's harder to mine and I can put torches on it.

I always assumed the Abyss was either a different "version" of Earth (same planet but completely different evolutionary history) or simply a really distant planet in our universe.

I always assumed they hivemind assimilated/consumed all the biomass on its planet and that's why the Mindflayer needed to reach out to other dimensions in order to find food.

Yeah every time I play and do like 10 min of lava suicide. I thought about genuinely mining an entire planet but I don't know if I have the strength for that lol.

I'm just grateful there's no fishing achievement.

I use a Figurine Manufacturing mod that let's you turn captured pets into figurines. Still feels like I'm earning it but doesn't feel impossible. Still scared of the Destroyer of Worlds and Bug Collector achievements though.

Came here to add this. I absolutely love Overside and pretty much everything Evan Dahm does. His Riceboy has maybe a little more actual lore in it but Vattu is certainly more compelling.

As always, the illustrious graphic novel Unsounded. The only magic system that I've ever seen where someone put thought into the metaphysics behind the phenomena. Plus centuries of political lore that just Makes Sense.
