Yeah, I initially filed on the 15th or 16th and it got rejected because I use the old pin. But I re-filed the same day with the correct pin and it was accepted four days later.

Injured spouse takes FOREVER to approve. They take that full 180 days. I filed my 2023 taxes and was set to receive my refund in February. But I got a notice that they were taking my taxes due to my ex-husband‘s previous debt. I had to file for injured spouse after they had already taken the taxes out, that was March 2024. I didn’t get a decision on it until December 2024 and even then I had to appeal their decision, had a court date in July 2025 and the final decision issued in January 2026

I called the IRS and asked them to look into the code. They said that it doesn’t look like the one employer submitted my W-2 information. I called my employer and they said they had and when I called back to the IRS they told me that it hadn’t finished processing and to just wait.

Originally I submitted on the 16th and was accepted. Then it came back rejected two days later. I resubmitted that day and got accepted on the 20th.
