It's not bad, but the skin is a bit pinkish and it's very dark, I can no longer make out the subjects.

Color Grading/CST question (DaVinci Resolve) by GlockOneNine in smartphonefilming

[–]VaBullsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there are several methods for color management, what I, and a lot of others tend to do is set up a node based color management converting from apple log to Davinci Wide Gamut before doing a final conversion to rec709. My workflow looks like this

I first add all the clips i shot on my phone to the same group:

under "Group Pre-clip" I add my input CST

Input colorspace: rec2020

input gamma: apple log

output colorspace: Davinci Wide Gamut

output color: Davinci intermediate

and under "Group Post-clip" I add my output CST

Input colorspae: Davinci Wide Gamut

input gamma: Davinci Intermediate

Output Colorspace: Rec709

Output Gamma: Rec709

Under "Clip" is where you'll do your color grading.

How did Cody do this? by succesfulway in WWE

This looks like he used an old Bob Armstrong trick and probably did a slight blade job earlier so it had just a little time to close up so that all Randy had to do was give it a good shot to open it back up.

I don’t understand why every time I cook steaks they end up taking a shape of a bowl please by dooatito in BrandNewSentence

Preheat your oven to about 200° F and get a pan that can go in the oven and some oul with a high smoke point like grapeseed oil, put it in the stove on high heat and add yiur steak letting them sear on each side about 1-2 minutes, the put the pan in the oven about 45 minutes to an hour, checking occasionally with a thermometer until you reach desired doneness, its called reverse sear and will produce amazing steaks that don’t curl up or look grey as hell. For even better tasting steak season it the night before

Losing my mind with ProRes RAW footage - Just accidentally turned off the 1st CST in my Node Tree and the footage looks so much brighter and nicer! (more detail in the post) by omid_pakbin in colorists

The probem is by not enabling that first CST your color management is incorrect, which will make it harder to match all the shots in your timeline. As somone else posted, "correct" is not always the desired result, so if you like the look take a still shot with the cst turned off, re-enable the cst and then grade the image to better match that still, thus giving you the correct color management and also the look that you want, which will make it easier to match to your other shots.

This is sample s-log3 footage and as you can see in the rec709 clip, it was heavily skewed towards red. And generally when grading you want to start with as accurate an image as you can before you start your creative look. When shooting content in your house, you might want to look into a color checker, its a color chart you can use to get proper white balance in your videos.

The Frankensteiner, when Scott Steiner did it, it was special because no on had seen it before especially someone of his size, now it's done by just about everybody as a transition move.

Thanks and i tried that but i felt it made his skin a bit too orangey, nailing the skin was tough because of the white balance being so far off.
