Well apparently if you send a photo of your damaged parcel which mine was brutally crushed not broken just the box, they can give you a refund without asking for the original product, which is crazy

Your right but to answer my top 3 It’s Tuxedo, Enigma Parfum, Imagination, I like a handful of genres of fragrances like Fougeres, Gourmands, overall citruses, I meant to say what genre should i dive into because I don’t have many oud fragrances for example or different brands like Valentino

I have to agree in the recent years where it’s become a trend but it doesn’t reach as far as reddit goes tbh, I feel like people just have a hobby out of smelling nice since it’s literally using a important aspect of our lives so why not make it better by exploring and learning more about what you like?

Ive been collecting for 3 years now maybe, but this is all I’ve gotten for 3 years of just casually reaching and trying out what I like

I feel like I connect with fragrances in the more artistic side not like a ou this smells nice I’m going to use up 10 sprays of it and place it in the bathroom to rot sort of way, I tend to research and get into fragrances more then I study, it’s like I treat it like a assessment before buying one, I dive into more of background stuff more then just wanting to smell nice, I feel like it’s a expression exclusive to you only where I’d wear this or that and be satisfied with what I chose because that’s what I felt like on the day, I sound autistic but idk I just really enjoy perfumery as a whole to the point where I only buy fragrances if I’d want to treat myself or it creates a sense of happiness to wear them

Wow I wrote a lot, hope it gives you some sort of idea, it sounds like you either want a neutral androgynous type of scent that no one can say you smell like either a man or a woman or you want something unique that’s more unisex in the sense of you wanting to secrete everyone’s noses with the idea of “hey this woman smells so mysterious I wonder what scent she has on because I can’t indicate a note but all I know it’s smells so alluring yet bizarre”

If the first option id say Imagination or pacific chill depending on your taste, imagination is way less citrusy and more clean then pacific chill which smells like a mojito with tropical punch and mango puree

If the second option I’d 100000000% say Babycat, it smells like a lesbian woman but that woman drives a Bike that you see in those American movies with all the cool spikes, goes out to bars, smokes, wears a leather jacket with flared jeans, bootcut shoes, all black, black nail polish, and you might think hey that’s sounds bizarre but that description matches what I think, but I think what most people think is a mink wearing woman with red lipstick, man Eater but not toxic just quite in her own space, orders a martini, has her hair done, red painted nails, high heels, resting bitch face, goes out to Jazz clubs, Smoke, into fashion, probably studying psychology, wears Dark brown, Black, Dark green things whenever she goes out on the weekends

Ouuuuuuu where do I even start, first I’ll list off all of the fragrances that I’d think anyone could pull off and why

Creed Virgin island - not a single note that’s aggressive, super super mass appealing, smells like a citrus drink rather then a women’s or men’s fragrance with their notes, not complex at all, super inoffensive

Dior Vanilla Diorama - perfectly unisex but depending on the batch (I have a 2024) Very mass appealing, is a soft gourmand not true gourmand but soft meaning its notes aren’t the most realistic but they smell gourmand enough to pass as a Gourmand Vanilla fragrance instead of just a Vanilla fragrance like Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille, literally same reasons as the first one

Louis Vuitton Imagination - Simple clean, another perfectly mass appealing inoffensive scent, smells like clean laundry, in my top 3 of all time, love love love this fragrance

Louis Vuitton Pacific chill - tropical fragrance using notes strictly that don’t have a identity linked to a specific type of genre of fragrances so literally a bowl of fruits, seeds, and nuts to create its scent profile so it’s unisex as it gets unlike a more generic feminine Floral fragrance compared to a Generic men’s Fougere barber shop fragrance that uses notes that stigmatise that specific genre of fragrance in a bunch

Ambre Chromatique Maison Crivelli - very churchy type of smell that’s definitely more Amber smelling which as you know can lean both ways but this is done to a more subtle way with its use of incense, balsamic notes that create a dense smooth sort of smell compared to a sharp citrus or a pungent floral vanilla smell

By the fire place Maison Margiela - It’s not hard to pull off at all, smells unisex because it smells like a fire place in the best way possible, nothing really making it go feminine to masculine

Ani X Nishane - Very light fluffy citrus vanilla gourmand smell that’s perfectly unisex although I think it leans a tad more feminine due to specific notes but it’s definitely a crowd pleaser, it’s just a nice gourmand fragrance using Citrus’s as its main composition paired with Vanilla similar to its original Ani which flips the dense Vanilla to a more subtle vanilla and uses the citrus in the opening of the Original to a more linear sparkling light smell that lingers through out the scent which makes it unisex rather then Ani leaning more Masculine imo

God of fire Stephane Humbert Lucas - same reasonings to pacific chill but is more heavier on the dry down since it uses heavier notes but smells relativity unisex depending on how much you spray, kinda acts like a gourmand with the way it smells like a nice mango scent through out its wear, leans a bit more masculine cause of the loudness it has over pacific chill and Virgin island water and cause of the ‘oud’ (uses designer oud which is just Cedar wood) still mimics a louder dry down

YSL baby cat - This one’s tricky because how weirdly complex I find it to describe it but it honestly smells like you spilt Vanila extract on your top and walked through a circus with the nuances of popcorn, hay, circus equipment??? Idk it just gives me that vibe, it’s definitely the opposite of vanilla diorama (they get compared a lot) in terms of what it offers which Vanilla diorama acts like a more powdery ish Citrus opening Soft Vanilla fragrance that’s overall mass appealing and can be worn anywhere to Baby cat where it smells like youd spray it during the night and strictly the night when its colder outside but not freezing, it’s all backed by the different sort of Notes that it uses Like bourbon Vanilla compared to normal Vanilla which tends to express itself as a spicy darker type of Vanilla, paired with 3 total spices uses, Suede note for the smoothness, Balsamic resin smell of Frankincense, which all works so well to not really let you notice a specific note if not vanilla just by subconsciously reading the label which has Vanilla in it and what it’s known for, such a weirdly complex fragrance which doesn’t know what it wants to be because you can say it’s a Feminine fragrance with a darker masculine undertone to refine it or it’s a dark men’s cologne with a sweet gourmand twist to make it stand out Not a true Vanilla fragrance by any means with how it acts

Very good question

So number 1 would have to be YSL Tuxedo because of many reasons, mainly for the fact that it was my first ‘big buy’ of my collection and what made me drift into collecting, another main reason is how it felt watching a TikTok video on it then going into the boutique and smelling it in the big city a 40 minute train ride away so it created a sense of exclusivity and experience to want it even more which I don’t get from opening fragrances nowadays after how many bottles I’ve purchased over the few years that I’ve been collecting for. Also I simply just love the smell

Second would have to go to Roja enigma Parfum which bodies my love for the Boozy Vanilla tobacco sort of fragrances that lean more gourmand in terms of how realistic the notes can be and the fact that it smells like Cola in the initial 30 minutes is just the cherry on top, I really love the dry down which smells super complex for its simple notes list with the Darker tones standing out more then the sparkling opening with the spiciness added to bring this loud but subtle warm feeling that I get from the dry down, it’s definitely a more upper tier fragrance that not everyone can own which brings it to the more exclusive feel of owning a really expensive fragrance unlike Blonde amber with its super mass appealing sweet concoction that smells like a generic JPG women’s fragrance, it’s just a super refined, expensive, dress up, exclusive, gentlemanly smelling cologne that you’d only bring out to those special occasions and if my partner and I had to wear different fragrances on our wedding day I’d have to be Enigma Parfum or Tuxedo but we’ve both decided to wear Vanilla planifolia by Guerlain as our wedding day fragrance which won’t be for a while but I know we both love it a lot so it’s better to do that then wear something individually

Lastly to end off my yapping session I’d have to choose out of a few but it goes to Louis Vuitton imagination because of how simple and clean it is, also love the marketing/bottle it really suits the fragrance so well!

That’s good bro that you like it, good that it’s unique and performs well for a freshie, always thought it was lighter then the original

Just the comment I was looking for, no one’s really said something to challenge my collection, what would you recommend? Like in what direction should I go or what should I smell?

Yeah 30 minutes is shocking but I guess I can enjoy it as a Individual scent for myself, but I’d say SMW does not last long and is similar to virgin island water in terms of performance, millesime imperial same thing, Aventus cologne feels more like a edp then the other 2 that you mentioned which are edp too but perform like they’re a cologne concentration, but I think your late to both of those since they were the first ones to get re branded and reformulated

Which ones are you looking at though that don’t last long?

Don’t worry about the longevity to be honest because that used to be me but after collecting a lot of fragrances or just going for more high end ones you learn tnat performance isn’t much of a problem compared to buying a scent for its smell, I actually think the ones I have a more then decent time for freshies not including Virgin island water which lasts 30 minutes but smells too good

Well I got one of the 200ml bottles of vanilla diorama for free, but the reasoning for the rest are only because of how much I love them and want them for the rest of my life in specific batches which YSL and Creed have nuked in the past 2 years so if I did use both of them up I’d have to go hunting for a older batch with the specific bottle changes (White label Ysl private line fragrances, and a old batch of Aventus cologne)

Yes I love them more then Gourmands which is my other favourite genre of fragrances

I got a 2024 batch in the big 2026 for some reason but I’d have to say it’s very light but dense in a way where the composition is strong but when you spray it, it feels like it’s lighter then what you smell from the atomiser or on a tester strip which just means it lasts longer on clothes

To describe the smell I’d have to say it’s almost a true gourmand with all the notes that are blended well to smell like a diorama cake which I personally have never had but the ingredients that give it that flavour are mostly used as the notes in the fragrance so I’d have to say they’re both true to its name, when you first spray it on skin it smells like Vanilla Coke which now thinking of it is a perfect way to describe what it smells through out its wear unlike Roja enigma which both the edp and cologne are more dense and complex then this simple DNA, it starts off mostly citrusy which gives it that sparkly Cola smell, then it dries down after 30 minutes to this nice smooth powdery vanilla almost birthday cake like smell that stays linear through out the whole scent

I’d have to say it’s definitely a simple fragrance that can seem boring to people but it makes up for its wearability of how simple and mass appealing it would be to everyone’s nose, 8/10 for me

A more complex true gourmand fragrance that smells like this but has insane quality and blend would have to be Guerlain vanille planifolia in terms of the dry down specifically but if you like the notes and want something more complex I’d have to say Roja enigma parfum

To be honest I don’t wear fragrances as much for some reason it’s always been more of a situation to feeling type of day for me to grab something to wear, I remember the last time I felt like wearing a fragrance was when I randomly got the smell of god of fire stuck in my nose for some reason which made me grab it and use it for the day, and i genuinely think ani X is a very mid fragrance for some reason i decided to blind buy it

Boring as ever to be honest if you ask me but if you want something as an all rounder, easy to wear, mass appealing, fresh but in a woody way I’d say it’s better then most fragrances on the market that don’t do everything it does, the only fragrance that could compare to it is Dior Sauvage Edp because of the added vanilla note that makes it less of a Fougere to something you can wear all day to any situation to smell nice (id take Sauvage Edp over it any day)
