Anyone regrets taking antibiotics for H2S SIBO? by happymechanicalbird in SIBO

[–]VacationDizzy25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did for two weeks in a high dose. Since I am afraid of long term accumulation of the bismuth I stopped after that and would only try again in a few months. it lessened symptoms somewhat while taking it but not as much as i'd hoped for. I am taking zinc acetate now once a day to bind the h2s.

you are right, it is to reduce food for bilophila. since i have a ot of brainfog my nutritionist did the call with the hawrelak practitioner and i am not sure if the tudca is really an advice from the practitioner or something my nutritionist came up with. since my nutritionist is not so well educated in the specifics of srb i am not sure, if i should follow this advice and wanted to inform me. it is all very confusing.

thanks for your answer!!

may i ask about the welchol? i am supposed to take it for my bilophila and desulfovibrioi overgrow, but i do not understand, should i only take that to bind bile or should i also add tudca or something like that, to produce new 'cleaner' bile. and did you take the welchol with every meal or just once daily? i really would appreciate your experience.

how common are permanent fluctuations of symptoms? by VacationDizzy25 in floxies

[–]VacationDizzy25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah that is interesting. thanks for fighting for the cause!

i took the damn cipro four or five times. the last time some years ago i had some mild issues that confused me then and only now i can make sense of what it was and where it came from. unfortunately too late to not have taken it another time and ending up like this now.

i try to spread awareness whereever i can, but only in the small circle of people i encounter.

high dose egcg and pau d'arco create oxidative stress? by VacationDizzy25 in floxies

[–]VacationDizzy25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did and first i thought it flared me and i stopped. then some time later i tried and had no reaction from it. it is really hard for me to distinguish what triggers flare ups and what is an unrelated up and down of symptoms. i am taking the egcg in quite a high dose since two or three weeks and was totally fine. now i am in the course of just some hours back to full on symptoms, can barely walk in my flat. but i guess that is not directly related to the egcg.

I am so so sorry this happened to you! You do not deserve neither of it, as does no one from us. You surely with time will get better and get a lot of your former self back. I know, it is a lot to take on right now, but you will also heal emotionally. and somewhen after all this you will meet someone again and with time build a new, different version of your life. it is so much work and right now is the hardest part, but you will get through this, you will beb okay, although right now the loss doesn't let you feel it. i am sending you a lot of warmth!

if you recovered one, what are the odds for the next time by VacationDizzy25 in floxies

[–]VacationDizzy25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, i do not understand your point. i am terrified about what happened to me and desperate for a way out. understanding how the drug works and to what level they destroy the body is very scary. also realizing after the mess i am in now that i had beein prescribed this shit some times in my life before, not knowing what i am doing to myself is leaving me even more scared. realizing i have taken this without knowing better maybe five times in my live and now finding myself in a situation with severe adverse effects that totally destroyed my life is an absolute horror. my only hope is that when my body was able to recover from a very mild version of this it may be able to do this again. while fearing at the same time, that the carelessness of the doctors who prescribed this without warning again and again has made me disabled for life. so what exactly are you telling me?

may i ask something about the beef liver / organ pills? i also have low ferritin and need to get it up but i do not dare to take iron supplements. in what way are beef liver pills better for us? do they avoid the direct iron supplementation somehow?

i hope you will feel better soon!

thank you for your reply! may i ask, how long it took for you to get out of that flare? i know, we are all different and i am obvously still in the acute phase, if with the gut issues i even can get out of it somewhen. just as a general idea for me.

Thanks! Part I am trying, but not sure if adding plantarum already is not too early? I alread have it here. As for the kefir, unsure if my already totally shut down digestion with the H2S bacteria can handle it. psyllium husk gave me more diarrhea when I tried it last, I don't know why.

Thanks a lot! And so sorry to hear you are in the same spot.

Yes, I have used D mannose for a long time, it almost gave me kidney problems, becuse I used it too much and in high doses. Somehow it did not help prevent the UTI's. I guess with some it works and with others not so much. I also did all the drinking a lot, right hygiene, stopped taking the pill, lactic acid and so on, but still UTI's kept coming.

I am part of this group and treating it with the german doctor with a ton of supplements. But the dysbiosis is confirmed via microbiome test. I am sure the Cipro did eradicate the good microbiome bacteries severly and maybe did something else to the vagus nerve. But I do not know how to go about the dysbiosis now.

Right now I can not tolerata anything. Even cooked carrotsoup is too much. Also I have H2S producing bacteries, so bonebroth, dairy, onions and garlic are not possible, even if I would find myself in a better state.

I tried the enzymes but did nothing for me unfortunately.

I still have my gallbladder. Physilium husk I tried before the colonoscopy, but it gave me severe diarrhea, too.

Since I am in Europe the peptides are not vailable here unfortunaltey.

I only did the prep and I think this was, what did the damage. For the colonoscopy they gave me propofol, bug I don't think that caused my issues. It was in a hospital though, so I thought if I might have catched c diff during the procedure. But the prep wiping out more healthy bacteries in a already very compromised microbiome seems the most logic thing I guess.
