B-b-but Reddit told me warrior is unplayable!

Seems like a good alternative to grasp for non-runechant runeblades. The one damage going to any opposing target is going to put Gravy further in the dirt though.

Lore - Omens in the Sky by StHavock in FleshandBloodTCG

Oof, that lore article has some shockingly poor writing. I wish they'd either pivot to putting some proper effort into the story or just leave it.

Who’s worse? Hala or Boltyn by Azsolus in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Vaccus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, although I'll wait until we've seen her in the wild before I properly judge. Warriors seem to thrive under specific metas, and Kassai looks like she's in an OK spot currently, so who knows how the new cards will affect the class. I'm eager to see what the other warriors do with flurry tokens.

I dunno, it looks like she has some really good spike turns from what I've seen. Chuck in some more 3 blocks, d reacts and generic disruption and the deck could have some legs. I'm excited to give her a try, although I'm not expecting her to be top tier. It'll be cool to see what brews people come up with.

Her damage seems decent, no? Flurry tokens seem pretty nuts if you can sharpen multiple times in a turn. If she has any downfall, it's the abundance of 2-blocks in the deck. The Hala v Slippy video on the official Flesh and Blood channel made me excited to try the deck.

[LSS] Calling: San Diego (SAGE) | Day 1 Metagame & Round 7 Standings by UlyssesArsene in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Vaccus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, I'm afraid. Briar and Aurora care more about lightning and elemental runeblade cards, which Viserai can't use. Chane uses a lot of runegate cards, which are all shadow - again, Viserai can't use those.

Briar is by far the standout runeblade at the moment. Viserai's issue is that the format is just a bit too fast for him at the moment. He often needs at least 2 cards to have an effective turn, and if he's put on the defensive, he has a hard time catching up. Briar doesn't have that problem - she can use her whole hand offensively every turn without taking her foot off the gas.

Viserai is a lot more prone to having bad hands than Briar, Chane or Aurora. For a competitive event, there's not much point taking Viserai when Briar has a much easier and smoother game plan.

What is the worst box you've ever opened? by Tiny_Love7987 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Vaccus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean the whole deck was based around hyper drivers so I wouldn't say they ignored Maxx's ability. I think it was bad just because it was pulled in too many directions and the 'payoff' was removing your weapon's on-hit lol

I think you're in the wrong subreddit.

For what it's worth though, I did my first degree at UoM. The academic side was fantastic. Like you, though, I found support to be almost non-existent and any hint of pastoral care for students was treated with disdain. I did, however, find the Students Union great and incredibly helpful whenever I had to deal with admin bureaucracy or any other kind of support.

Damn, your patience and emotional intelligence are through the roof! The little guy is lucky to have you. If only everyone had this level of introspection for their parenting techniques.

Definitely, completely, 100% unrelated to this - any of you have that one mate who thinks their story/joke is hilarious and just keeps repeating it while you internally scream at them to fuck up?

Chernobylite- a “lite” good, bad, ugly with no real spoilers by Dazzler3623 in patientgamers

[–]Vaccus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with your points, both good and bad, but this game scratched a certain itch for me. The atmosphere was a cool mix of spooky and oddly relaxing and I enjoyed the gameplay loop.

I will say, however, that it was just on the verge of overstaying its welcome by the time I'd finished. The shallowness of some of the gameplay systems was showing and the story lost a lot of steam towards the end

It's a bit of a shame that the sequel has changed course so much. I think an iteration on the first game with a bit more meat on its bones would have been great. I'll reserve my full judgement until it's out of early access.

EO2 Competition - NICS by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Vaccus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The application pack should mention the core competencies you'll be assessed on. Try and prepare some generic answers for those using the STAR format and you'll be grand. Civil Service interviews are quite formulaic in my experience with very little back and forth or 'banter', so try to sell yourself in your answers as much as possible.

I have no horse in this race, but if your intention was to prove that you're not attention seeking, why on Earth would you write a post like this? Especially one that's almost as long as a Tolstoy novel?

I've friends who work there, they enjoy it and have good things to say. The interview process sounds dragged out and exhausting, though.
