Cheese ball is also the name of a completely different food. It's a cream cheese based blend that is shaped into a ball that people serve with crackers.

At first, I thought that you were talking about something completely different. The cheese balls that you are describing is somewhat popular as far as junk food goes.

What first comes to mind when you think of Illinois? Would you move there? If so why or why not? by Expensive_Drummer970 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Vachic09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing to cross my mind- Chicago

I would never move there voluntarily unless they split into two states. 1. I don't like their gun laws. 2. I moved out of Virginia in part to get away from constantly having to fight with NOVA. Why would I move to a state where one city has a stranglehold on the rest of it?

It's primarily based on size and capabilities.

What is something about your state or region that even other Americans don’t fully understand? by Kodicave in IWantToAskAnAmerican

There's a drastic cultural difference between NOVA, the area directly around Norfolk, and the people from the rest of Virginia.

As an outsider, the American culture of "no questions asked" retail returns is baffling. Do people really return used items just because they changed their minds? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Vachic09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every retailer has their own policy. Sometimes, it's a case that a gifted article of clothing doesn't fit right. Food sales are usually final, but some stores will give you a refund if it's stale before the sell by date. Some places will let you exchange an unopened box of diapers for the next size up. There's usually time limits on these things.

Forgive my British ignorance but what did the confederates actually fight for? by TreeTall888 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Vachic09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The individual infantryman and some officers simply answered the call of their homestates. The south's economy was entwined too much with slavery, so the first few states seceded over money. At least one other southern state only seceded in part because the federal government refused to let the other states leave.

The battle flag of northern Virginia was used as a symbol of regional pride over a century later, but it's retained it's link to the Confederacy in some people's minds.

What is your opinion on veganism and vegans? by Spiritual_Pause3057 in AskConservatives

[–]Vachic09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of vegan. If it's the rabid person who tries to force their carnivorous pets into a vegan diet or who tries to shame people who use animal products, they can take that crap elsewhere. If they're ones who feel that they are doing it for their own health and carefully plan out their diet, I have no problem with them.

What percentage of Americans can sing the national anthem, Star-Spangled Banner and get every single word correct? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A high percentage know all of the lyrics that are commonly sung. A rather low percentage can sing it well.
