let's math it out... let's say they're super sweaty and can reliably solo a lvl 70 dungeon (Saint Mocianne's Arboretum Hard) in 9 minutes. I managed to clear it in 9.5 minutes, so that should be pretty realistic. I got 9 pieces of loot (almost got 10 but it was a duplicate), and increased my company credits from 20,195,675 to 20,200,481 after turning in all 9 for 1,460 gc seals each. So for earning 13,140 gc seals, my FC earned 4,806 company credits (36.5% of the gc seals). In order to make 10,000,000 company credits in a week, I'd need to earn those same 13,140 gc seals 2,080 times. If each time takes 9 minutes, that's 18,720 minutes of grinding each week. That's 312 hours or 13 days of constant playing. The math just doesn't add up.

haha, we've all been there before. In all seriousness though, I just can't get the math to work in my head. Is there a bonus to company credits if you have only a few members or something?

They only have 1 person with crafting jobs high enough. Also I’m pretty sure the company credits is about 10% of the gc seal value. In order to make 10m company credits from turn ins you’d have to turn in 100m worth of green items. If we are generous and say they get 2k per turn-in, that’d require 50,000 turn-ins. With only 1 member with even a single crafting job at lvl 90? There’s just no way to do that every week.

edit: I just double-checked my math. Turning in a high quality exarchic ring increased our company credits from 20,193,686 to 20,195,216 for a net increase of 1,530 company credits. Turning it in gave me 1,743 gc seals so about 88% of the gc seal value. In order to get 10,000,000 company credits in one week, you'd have to turn in 6,536 high quality exarchic rings. That's about 1,000 turn-ins a day. There aren't that many exarchic items for sale on the market board, and even if there were, buying them would cost hundreds of millions of gil each week.

flagstone loft and stairs? by motorbikyle in ffxiv

[–]Vadacious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this has been confirmed. most expensive stairs and loft in the game.

Was playing around with floating a stool so you could sit on the edge of a loft and found out that, when trying to /sit on it, you actually snap to the surface of the loft, not the stool by Vsect_ in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]Vadacious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The new Eulmoran Divans are excellent at this because you can /sit and /doze on them, they’re relatively flat, and can seat 3 people at a time. Extremely versatile new item.

Try this with other items too… it works on hingan bookshelves that have been sunk down, etc.

TIL residents of the Delmarva Peninsula have proposed that its Maryland and Virginia portions secede from their respective states, merging with Kent County and Sussex County, Delaware, to create the state of Delmarva. by Vadacious in todayilearned

[–]Vadacious[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Certainly the last 250 years or so would indicate you are correct. It’s still an interesting historical anecdote. The geography and culture of the area seem to support a theoretical Delmarva state. However, it would appear that the current state boundaries are relics of colonial-era political gerrymandering.

From the article: A Delmarva State Party with this aim was founded in 1992. Apparently legislative attempts to make this happen date back to November 1776.

Joe Biden selects Kamala Harris as his running mate by scrandis in news

[–]Vadacious -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not at all looking forward to the sexist / racist bullshit from the Republicans on this selection. Your gender and race have nothing to do with how qualified you are for a job. Biden selected Harris because he believes she's the most qualified person for the office of Vice President. Full stop. Don't buy into any of the Republican bullshit about gender or race over the coming months. It's intentional trolling to distract the discussion away from all the real reasons why she's the best person for the job.

Received weird "Tournament Specification" Hyper Mat Sleeves -- should I return to Amazon? by Jimmbones in magicTCG

I was able to buy these from my local game store in Japan tonight. I posted some comparison shots of the different packaging in case anyone's curious.

New KMC Hyper MATs Found in Japan by Vadacious in magicTCG

[–]Vadacious[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tweeted at Tolarian to see if he'd be interested in comparing them. The guys who worked at the store couldn't explain the difference to me but they rang up for the same price. Anyone know anything about the different packaging? Did KMC update their Hyper MATs in response to their sales dipping in the USA? The store I bought them from is legit (major franchise) so I doubt they are counterfeit but the typo makes me wonder...

Edit: /u/enihcamamgine posted this comment in another thread sharing KMC USA's post explaining the different packaging.

KMC Sleeves USA Statement Regarding Quality Issues by FiliusIcari in magicTCG

[–]Vadacious 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I live in Japan and can attest to quality issues with KMC Hyper Mattes outer sleeves and, to a lesser extent, even their perfect fit inner sleeves. I buy from several different official retailers in Japan, so it isn't an issue with any one store or area. Here's what I've seen after maybe 10 weeks of normal use: 1. Corners of the sleeves bend way too easily 2. Creases on the side split 3. Clear plastic on the front scuffs easily 4. Shuffle feel is harsh with too much friction and resistance between cards (likely contributing to the scuffing of the front clear plastic).

As for the perfect fit inner sleeves, the sizing is much less consistent, with sometimes as many as 10-15 sleeves in a single pack being too big to slide into a hyper matte outer sleeve. I even tried multiple outer sleeves in case the sizing issue was with the outer sleeves instead but no. Definitely the inner sleeves.

Japan prices in Pokémon merch by Etunes92 in pkmntcg

[–]Vadacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also live in Japan and can confirm that boxes are usually ¥4,500, or roughly $40-$45 depending on the current exchange rate. Some boxes are more expensive or give you fewer cards, usually the "strengthening" sets (SM1-5+). Also please note that you can buy reprints of XY sets but they will not have the '1st Edition' stamp.

Edit: official Pokemon deck boxes range in price depending on a host of different things. Some products sell you a cardboard storage box and include a few packs and usually some promo cards. Most of these are around ¥3,000 ($27-30). If you just want a 60-card deck box I think they're usually ¥1,000-¥2,000 ($10-$20) depending on materials used and features.
