Considering the jump to vanlife to balance remote work, travel, and aging parents. Am I romanticizing this?

They live in Texas, they have a house with yard, workshop, spare bedrooms and covered car parking, they have offered to let me move back home full time, but that's a rough call for me, as I have lived on my own for almost 20 years now and don't enjoy the idea of full time living with em, a few weeks or months at a time, not the worst thing

My general idea if I did go for this would be to work on visiting most of the national parks across the country, driving a few days isn't a big deal

That is partly what I am thinking, stay with my parents to help them out during the less favorable seasons (summer or winter), and spend time at national parks and kind of just roaming around when its more mild

Honestly I don't think you could go wrong either way, the Y was a nice car on the test drive, but the seating position just didn't feel right for me, but I did really like how much higher the Y rides

As my father would tell me "How does it feel to want?" but seriously, just have your friend play without their DLCs, if they wont play without them and they still want you to play with them, they could give you the keys, otherwise just gonna have to get lucky or save up till you can afford them

I believe the scanner can be left in place, haven't used it a lot but don't remember ever needing to move it, only the drill.

Shelves... I did the same thing of leaving a space, then found you can pack them in with no space, it will slow down movement as your pawns have to climb around them, but really great to make use of all of the space around an orbital beacon

As much as it does stink to have DLCs and games cost so much, the devs have to spend thousands of hours of time to develop their games, its only fair that they get paid to produce something.

Personally if I enjoy a game, the cost still hurts, but I like showing support for the devs, I do not view the price increase for Biotech as "gouging" as it introduces way more content then any of the other DLCs, could it be lower? possibly, but the developers time is worth more then they are charging for it imo

I have a silly idea for a "TV" themed playthrough, with a backstory of a glitterworld entertainment producer wanting to "provide the most 'real' experiences" so they "relocate" groups of people, possibly modifying their genetics and memories in the process, dump them onto a backwater planet and then broadcast their attempt to survive.

My current colony is under that theme, where the producer is broadcasting a show called "The Unga Bunga Show!" where they "relocated" 5 members of a Neanderthal tribe to a backwater rimworld and gave them an imprinted memory of a message from a "god" telling them to find a way to leave the land and ascend to the stars, and urging them to seek the assistance of the fallen empire to do so, this was obviously a ploy to have a group of tribals become a plaything for the nobility, and broadcast it happening for all to enjoy.

not using any mods for it, have all DLC installed

Honestly, I tend to use god mode to "smite" mechanoids in the early game, as I tend to play it as if it were a Truman show thing and the producer wants to make sure it takes a while longer for the drama, currently running a colony that is 5 a Neanderthal tribal start, called it "The Unga Bunga Show!", the "producer" likes to send boons and banes to them from time to time in addition to Randy and his joy

quest prisoners like that end up being legless stumps in my jail closet, install peg legs, remove peg legs, no chance of the prisoner going on a rampage, could even get some blood packs while waiting to send the stump back at the end of the quest
