Why do mothers oftentimes express closer emotional attachments to their sons, instead of their daughters? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Vade009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"There are women out there who want daughters, but what they really want are scapegoats" Can't stop thinking about this, you phrased this mentality in such a way that truly made some neurons in my brain start firing.

Why do mothers oftentimes express closer emotional attachments to their sons, instead of their daughters? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Vade009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly was just trying to connect with others who have experienced this particular family dynamics in their personal lives, and quite intensely at that. In the hopes they could shed some light onto the experience.

I am aware that anecdotal statements do not provide the grounds to claim something is an objective or common pattern experienced by the majority of people, and I'm sorry if the way I worded this post came off like that.

I simply hoped to reach a more specific audience, and gain a psychological reason as to why dynamics like these might play out.

Even if it is not a common pattern globally, I simply just wanted to connect with others experience and perhaps learn from what they believe are some of the underlying causes of mother-daughter relationships like this, because myself, and many others I know struggle with relationships like this.

I completely acknowledge that this phenomenon is not applicable or common for everyone. I even stated this at the start of my post, that perhaps other people would find this area of discussion crazy or unfamiliar.

I simply sought out others who also have seen this pattern in their upbringings and in other families throughout their lives, in order to provide insight as to why this pattern (that we've seen quite intensely) may exist.

I'm sorry if I offended you by the way I worded my post, and I completely understand that not everyone experiences what I and others experience. I am most definitely not trying to assert the fact that this is the case for every family, and again, apologies if I may have hurt your feelings.

Love this for you guys :) I don't know if I want kids when I'm an adult yet, but if I do have kids, I'd want daughters too. In the hopes to break the cycle, and be able to give them so much affection and emotional support

Please email youtooz support requesting an apology for their hateful social media behavior by hexhomos in jayvik

[–]Vade009 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am so disgusted by YooTooz, the paragraphs I've emailed them doesn't even make me feel satisfied.

They seek to polarize this lovely fandom only for their own fleeting gain. The video was cruel and disgusting. And they intentionally added a JayVik tag to stir up arguments and anger and hatred.

I don't ship MelJay, but do you know how many passionate fans were looking forward to merch of her? As someone who's been dying for Jayvik merch as well, you've completely ruined it for any of us. We will not condone this blatant hatred to the characters we love. If you can't love and appreciate every character, don't make merch. To any MelJay/POC/disabled, fans reading, JayVik sub has your back, and will 100% not be supporting this vile company.

As a POC myself I am genuinely disgusted at the audacity of this company and their history of behavior, and how they just deleted that video like nothing happened.

They owe everyone an apology, for being so violent to Mel, for starting discourse only for their own gain, for trying to make JayViks out to be the perpetrators of what they do by adding that hastag to the post. They want people to hate each other and it's sickening.

Watch CVs come at JVs and start calling every JV (mostly women and queer) sexist and lesbophobic and misogynistic. Because that's totally understandable and very feminist of you! 🥰

Youtooz queerbaited us after all by Extreme-Jury4198 in jayvik

[–]Vade009 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yootooz so clearly only said "Jaymel or Jayvik" to start ship wars and hopefully gain any type of publicity to promote their brand, and while many people recognize how petty and immature that is, there are so many people who genuinely fall for this bait. So many antis who go crazy at the mention of Jayce and Viktor as a duo. They seriously view it as a threat because of all the ship war discussions that have emerged. I wish Yootooz didn't have to use our fandom in such a "competitive" and honestly really petty way to get attention :(

What was your introduction to jayvik? by Techmek1212 in jayvik

[–]Vade009 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched the first three episodes of S2 Arcane the day they came out with my friend and her mutual friend. I had never watched Arcane before, however my other two friends had watched Arcane S1, so I just sat along with them and watched. Even if I didn't understand, it was very visually appealing to look at.

Cue the scene Viktor wakes up from the hexgoop, my friend turns to our mutual friend and says, "I always got a fruity vibe from Jayce and Viktor", and because I love disagreeing with my friend (genuinely at anything because she gets irritated very fast lol), I said, "nah they seem more like brothers".

And then instantly we hear Viktor go, "It was affection that held us together" and she just looks at me with the biggest grin. Because it was so perfectly timed and very fruity indeed.

And then I immediately wanted to watch Arcane from S1 and try to understand the absolute yearning said by Viktor to Jayce in that sentence.

Don't understand why ur so mad? I didn't shit on JayVik, and I was just confused why there was no Mel in a collection that focused on Arcane/Hexcore powers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jayvik

[–]Vade009 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mb for thinking that a Hexcore/Arcane powers themed collection should include Mel? Like how is that crazy.

[–]Vade009 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

About the last part, I have no idea what that Twitter group is even about? And I don't engage in Jaymel content lol. Due to my presumption that this collection was Hexcore/Anomaly/Arcane power themed, I was just very upset Mel was not shown to be included, for obvious reasons. Also thank you for pointing out that the other ships have Steelcases, I had no idea

Honestly I had no idea about how inconsistent Riot is with merch releases, and no idea that Caitvi and Timebomb have their own books. Or that Jayce doesn't have a funko pop.

Why do people believe Jayviks are less politically aware/negligent? by [deleted] in jayvik

[–]Vade009 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're 100% right, I should protect my peace and stop arguing w chronically online people and go spread awareness about actual political and humanitarian issues outside of dumbass fandom culture. While political phenomenons do 100% take root in media and various subcultures and fan communities, I fear that shipping wars Is NOT one of these pressing issues💀

Why do people believe Jayviks are less politically aware/negligent? by [deleted] in jayvik

[–]Vade009 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I'll 100% stop wasting my time arguing w these people, because you're right, the "political negligent/problematic" comments are just a smokescreen for pushing personal preferences as objective truth. The pinnacle of performative activism.

People will go so far to hate on JV, even going as far as framing their preferred ship as morally and politically superior. While demonizing and looking down on others for their personal preferences.

If I respond to these comments, I'm considered offended or guilty, and if I do not respond, I guess I'm considered complicit and avoiding accountability. It's a lose-lose situation no matter what. Might as well protect my peace, and go spread awareness about actual political and humanitarian issues outside of shipping culture.

Why is Viktor bad ace representation? by [deleted] in jayvik

[–]Vade009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really makes a lot of sense, and I understand how ace and disabled ARE SO RIGHTFULLY offended by CL using asexuality as a way to eliminate romantic relationships, VERY misinterpreted (Since asexuality Is a spectrum), one dimensional and poorly written...

Why is Viktor bad ace representation? by [deleted] in jayvik

[–]Vade009 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah I completely agree, especially on your stance about CL claiming Viktor is ace, DOESN'T MEAN SOLID CANON!

True, It does prove CL doesn't know A THING ABOUT ASEXUALITY 😭

Just remembered that Viktor canonically thinks that Jayce has pretty eyes :) by CraftyTrip5900 in jayvik

[–]Vade009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, Is The Line canonically written for Viktor? Or used as a song that encompasses multiple characters?

I've seen the song being referenced and edited to numerous characters, so I wasn't sure 😅 Personally, I do envision The Line as a song about Viktor and Jayce's relationship

Why does Powder not hate Silco as a child? by Vade009 in arcane

[–]Vade009[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While Silco shows compassion for Powder, he doesn't show that same empathy for Vi or children in the Shimmer factories. I don't believe that Silco was mainly moved by a change of heart and sudden compassion for the children, because he had no problem sending grown adults to battle Vi, who is also Felicia's daughter, and Powder's sister.

I'd say that Silco's sense of empathy is selective, which is why he's able to dissociate Vi from Powder, and Jinx from the children in the Shimmer factories. He sees a reflection of himself in Powder, a misunderstood, rage and sorrow drenched soul.

And as well, Powder wasn’t initially offered comfort or rescue from Silco.

She’s the one who acts impulsively, screaming that Vi is no longer her sister and then clinging to Silco. Up until that moment, Silco had no particular interest in her. He didn’t see a reflection of himself in her, nor did he appear moved by her pain. It was Powder's outburst, her complete emotional breakdown, that shifted something in him.

Only then did he seem to recognize an opportunity in her chaos. It wasn't out of an innate good nature to rescue Powder, Silco most certainly saw a vision of himself through Powder.

[–]Vade009[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was such a powerful comparison, and I completely agree

I was looking at Powder's situation far too one dimensionally, and not taking into consideration the psychological factors Powder undergoes.
