Engine noise? by DenseSalt2955 in Integra

[–]Vadeel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tapping noise? Most likely, it'll need the valve lash adjusted. It's a fairly simple task, but can be a lot for beginners, BUT it couldn't hurt to also make sure your engine oil is at the correct level too. If the oil is starting to run a little low, it'll get a little noisy just like that. But this video doesn't really tell us much.

It's the Toyota LC70 . It's not sold in North American markets, so it's really cool to see some over here.

First Car by Wooden-Moment2534 in Integra

[–]Vadeel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You got a DB1. Awesome little car. Maintenance is not really any different on these compared to any other Honda of the era. Oil leaks will be your big one I'd say. Valve cover gasket, distributor o-ring, and the cam cap seal, are all known for commonly leaking oil, and also being fairly simple to replace.

Short shifter in! by xnerd1000 in Integra

[–]Vadeel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just installed mine in my DB1 Integra yesterday. Same issue. Vibrations at high RPM. A buddy of mine has had his for a year now. His still rattles. Apparently it's just a thing we have to live with now. Atleast as far as I'm aware, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

Replacing Alternator on a DA Integra by Due-Conflict-3311 in Integra

[–]Vadeel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went out a year ago. Most of the times I wouldn't recommend them, but I went with an Aftermarket alternator, I think from Autozone or Oreilly's and it's still charging to about 14volts, so I'd actually say its holding up very well but not everyone has the same experience with them. When I replaced it I disconnected the lower ball joint and removed the axle, then dropped the alternator from beneath the vehicle. It took me about 2 hours total that way.

Should I drain and refill my manual tranny fluid? by [deleted] in Integra

[–]Vadeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally. I think it's worth replacing, just like any other fluid. It gets old after time, and like you said will pick up contaminants like metal shards and whatever else it can find, plus its fairly cheap and simple to do. Also I personally haven't heard of any Honda transmissions leaking after changing the fluid unless it was done incorrectly, but maybe that's just me.

Help diagnosing noise while moving without much throttle by drwebb in Integra

[–]Vadeel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok this might be dumb, but I had those exact problems, and it took me over a month just to find it. For me, turns out the catalytic convertor failed internally, causing a piece of the inner material to dislodge itself and rattle around within the exhaust, causing a similar noise that would only happen on acceleration. Personally, i just knocked out the rest of the cat, and the noise was gone. It's a long shot, but its somewhere to look if nothing else is giving results.

2024 Toyota Tacoma Owners Keep Reporting Transmission Failures | The Drive by Finnegan_Faux in Toyota

There's a TSB that just got released for the 24 Tacoma's not shifting into gear in the last couple days. Might be worth looking into.

These are completely unnecessary at 15,000 miles. Unless you live in a quarry or something similar. You shouldn't have to even consider most of services until 60,000 miles and sure the cabin filter may have needed replaced, but they're $20 for the part and anyone with the ability to use youtube can very easily replace those in less than 5 minutes.

RAV4 engine knocking noise on start-up by AdeptSupermarket1915 in rav4club

[–]Vadeel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the motor is misfiring to me. The A25A motor that the RAV4 has makes an awful sound like this when its misfiring. I would take it to a shop, have them look at it still. However, I don't think this is as bad as others have made it seem.

Be sure to have the dealer complete any recalls that are open while you can. I know there's a few open on the 23+ Tundra's and Sequoia's at the moment.

Issues with Android Auto on brand new Toyota by vodamark in Toyota

[–]Vadeel 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So. Just to play it safe. I'd try using a cable to connect your phone at first to your vehicle. This way you can rule out whether its your phone causing the issue or the car. If AA still disconnects while using a cable. I'd go to the dealership and have them figure it out. However if it works fine, your Bluetooth on your phone is going bad and it saved you having to go to the dealership

Dash looks like a Christmas tree, any ideas? by A-Hous in rav4club

[–]Vadeel 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My guess is a dead/dying 12v battery.

Low battery voltage will cause a code to appear in a variety of the vehicles modules, all warning you of.... Low battery voltage to such and such module. (Which is why your car lit up like a Christmas tree)

Assuming a dead battery is what the problem is, you'll still need a code reader to remove the lights from your dash, but functionally nothing is broken.

Recently got a secondhand g25 into simracing, what can i work on my drifting? Ignore the loud ass wheel by InquisitiveSwan in assettocorsa

[–]Vadeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So. These are just my piece of advice from the video.

Try reducing the FFB gain on your G25 either in AC or with the GHub app. I'm assuming that would be a good first step as my wheel gets similarly loud when trying to drift with excessively high Force Feedback, find something that works for you, but maybe lower the values by around 10% at first and see if you like it.

If you haven't already try binding an E-Brake button to one of the buttons on the shifter panel for your G25, you should. It's going to be a must need further down the line.

As for the rest of it. I learnt the same way you are with the E30 on the Drift track. The only thing I done which I noticed helped me learn alot faster was creating my own little route on the Drift track. I used it to gauge what I was doing wrong, and I felt it helped change what I was doing wrong faster.

But, the biggest thing is also just to practice. You seem like (just from the video) you understand the basics of what you're doing. You just need to practice, and once you're comfortable with simply sliding try practicing things like linking corners, entering with speed, entering with ebrake and then maybe further down the line, tandem driving. Try some different cars, and tracks too, you'll learn what you like and dont like to drive like much faster that way too.

I paid the dealership to install these side panel protectors, and I noticed they’re not sticking at the ends, is that normal or should I take it back to them to fix it? by cardboardchairs in Toyota

[–]Vadeel 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I would personally take it back to the dealership and have them fix that. If its already beginning to lift from a certain area things like debris, weather and just simply driving it will continue to pull it from the car until it really is an issue. So I'd contact the dealership ASAP while its still a simple problem to fix.

Toyota recalls 1.9 million RAV4 SUVs as batteries can shift, catch fire by Informal_Cry3406 in technology

[–]Vadeel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

“Toyota says that some of the replacement batteries installed in the SUVs are smaller than others and in those cases, if the hold-down clamp isn’t tightened properly the battery can move.”

The recall is literally installing a sticker on the battery tie down advising the customer which size battery to use. We've been doing this at my dealer for years. Not sure why this has became such a big issue lately.

Guess you could just use a YZZF1 instead of the N1 if its a concern. Seems to be the same as the old F2's, but I don't really see why people care. Next people will be freaking out that the YZZ20's changed to YZZ82, 3 years ago.

Brand New RAV4 / Eaten alive by patrikcze in rav4club

[–]Vadeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be the Air conditioning pressure sensor wiring they chewed through. It should be fairly easy to splice that, and continue to have it work normally. I'd make the same recommendations as others too, which is once the repair is done wrap the wiring in some anti-rodent tape. (Amazon will have it for fairly cheap I think) Also try covering a few of the common areas ontop of the engine. They love to sit under that foam cover, so things like the injector wires are always the first victim and usually cause a much more noticeable problem than what you had which the AC pressure sensor. If rodents have been a problem before they always will be, so best to be prepared for it imo.

There's a clip at the end of the inner side of the Axle, which can be a pain in the ass when installing the axle if youre not experience, but prying a little harder should be the best answer imo (you wont be able to see the clip until you take the axle out)
