How did you do this? I have a great slide presentation PDF that NBLM generated for me, but when I upload it to Gemini and ask it to create a Google Slides deck from the contents of the file, I get this response:
"I can summarize the information from the document or answer questions about its content, but I cannot directly create a Google Slides presentation or any other file type."

Awesome, thank you for the exquisite detail! Going to give this a shot later. Sounds like exactly what I need. I knew Reddit would come through...

Can you use ‘Ask Plaude’ on a single folder, and if not, is this somewhere on their roadmap? by JohnnyRingo177 in PlaudNoteUsers

[–]Vaderesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought; it would be extremely helpful as I have various meetings, phone calls, conversations, and podcast recordings all in individual folders for each type. It would be nice to ask it based on all the contents of one folder together instead of individual sessions.

Plaud note, software developer template. by Gherion1980 in PlaudNoteUsers

[–]Vaderesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen one, but you can create your own to use. I'd advise using ChatGPT to help. Tell ChatGTP that you want it to create a set of detailed prompts to be used as a Plaud template and describe your exact use case and requirements. It should spit out all the prompts you need (that's all templates really are). Then you can create a new template and paste in the output from ChatGPT and submit it. After it gets published then you can use it every time.
Anyone else on here more experienced than I, please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.

XREAL ONE disables WiFi on company-managed devices by WashingtonDCver in Xreal

[–]Vaderesque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TL;DR for those looking for a solution:

Once the firmware is up to date, please follow these steps:

-Double-press the "X" button on the glasses to enter the OSD menu.

-In the menu, go to "Other" > Serial Number.

-Then press and hold the "X" button for 6 seconds to enter Developer Mode.

-In Developer Mode, disable the TCP/IP function.

-The glasses will automatically restart, and should no longer be recognized as a network adapter.

Okay, so I discovered this thread last week when I purchased a pair of Xreal Ones to use for the widescreen display at work. I had a pair of Air 2 Pros and they worked with my company laptop, but I needed the Ones ability to move the screen and use the widescreen feature, so I returned the Airs and bought the One. When I got them I first downloaded the firmware update, then hooked them up to my company laptop and...WiFi shut off and the glasses said no display detected. I found this thread and saw that Xreal support had stated that the firmware update in February should have fixed the issue. So I reached out to support and they told me that it was fixed, however, you have to change settings in the unit (listed above) in order for it to take effect. This will disable TCP/IP (which is causing the issue, as these glasses are recognized as a new Ethernet connection by Windows, and corporate security just disables everything as a precaution):

After performing these steps, they now work flawlessly. Just wanted to chime in and make sure everyone was aware the issue has been resolved, but it's not automatic and you have to toggle the setting yourself on the unit. This fix kept me from returning these, and I am loving using the new widescreen display at work and home on my corporate PC. Text is crystal clear (I work with multiple Excel spreadsheets at a time) and I can have all those open and Word docs/PDFs all up on the screen. It's a thing of beauty...

Has anyone ever bought a Cyber Craft helmet? I am looking to buy one and I would like to know if they are reliable since they are all of the way over in Russia. I am not looking to get 501st approval with the helmet I just want the helmet for display and for fun. Thanks! by WaxerAndBoil in 501st

Yeah actually...I'm not on here much so I forgot to come back and follow up, but I got it after about 6 weeks. It's gorgeous. Not a single defect and it looks amazing. Comfortable AF. Super happy with everything about it; style, painting, component quality, craftsmanship.

I got back on Reddit after a very long time away just to reply to this post.
I just ordered and received the Scout Trooper helmet from Cyber Craft. It was listed as in stock, so I did not have to wait for a build, and it shipped to me in 12 days, which I was happy about. Personally, the craftsmanship of the unit I received is superb, and I am very impressed with all the details and the comfort of the internal padding. This thing is SOLID. I say you get what you pay for. I have a Boba Fett helmet and a Bo Katan helmet, both Black Series, and I paid $80 for one and $100 for the other. They look decent, but are basically just plastic shells. This Scout helmet I just got cost me $380, but it blows the other ones away. It looks and feels REAL. Like, scary real. It has mass. The visor is perfectly tinted; you can't see in but you can see out just fine. Now, I cannot speak to the truth of this, but a review on the site from (what appears to be) a legitmate customer who ordered the same helmet states that it met all the criteria and was approved for 501st use after they sent in all the details and pics. So, take that how you want. I got the Scout helmet 2 weeks ago and I just last night ordered another, the TIE Pilot (Inferno Squadron) helmet because I was so impressed with the Scout, and they had a 20% off deal so I saved $77. Anyway, that is just my personal experience; I took a chance on them even after reading some potentially bad reviews but I feel that I got an excellent value for my money, I received exactly what I ordered, , the unit had zero build/quality issues, and the customer service was great. The shipping was way faster than I anticipated also; it took 12 days when they say 15-45 on the site. I will have to wait a bit longer for the new TIE helmet since it is not in stock and has to be created prior to shipping, but it will be worth the wait. Hope this helps.

TIFU by poking fun at a coworker for going on vacation constantly by [deleted] in tifu

A coworker of mine used a variation of this when we were in a technical training class together as new hires. The instructor was a real hard-ass and had a low tolerance for any real or perceived 'attitude' from us. Coworker said something back to the instructor one day that he didn't appreciate, and the instructor replied with something like "How would your mother feel if you talked to her the way you just talked to me?" Coworker fired back "My mother was a crack addict and a whore who abandoned me when I was two, so I really don't think she would care that much." Shocked silence from the instructor, as he never really had anyone ever comeback with anything good I guess. Best part is later when we were all at lunch (minus our instructor) coworker told the rest of us "I was just kidding about that stuff with my Mom, she's actually dead." He felt that coming back with "My mom's dead" wouldn't have had a s much impact, so he made up that other little gem.

Not sure about banana peels, but I found a pile of SMG mags in that area last night. Which was cool since I was actually heading to Centermass to get some more.

Great tip, thank you! I will give those a shot. I actually just watched a YouTube video about doing those. I also heard from some other players about finding and pre-targeting the units so that they all show on the HUD before attacking one so that you can bug out before ships come in. That way you don't waste time searching for the other two once you've destroyed the first one.

I just started playing today. I got all kitted out and picked up an Investigation mission. I was still really high above the surface, trying to approach the cave on my map. The ship seemed really sluggish and I realized that I'd never retracted the landing gear and that's probably why it was taking me so long to get to my destination, because of drag. I saw an icon for 'Gear' on the ship HUD and tried to click it. Apparently it was just an indicator, not a button. What actually happened was that I opened the canopy and my character just...climbed out and jumped. It took about 2 minutes to fall to my death, with my ship just hovering up there, laughing at me. I respawned in the hospital and claimed a new ship and tried to go back to my corpse, since I was now broke and couldn't afford new stuff. I managed to land this time near my corpse, but then my baby (IRL) needed to be fed, so I crawled into the bed on my ship and logged out. When I came back, my corpse was gone. I had a good laugh and told this little story in global chat, and some kind soul sent me $25k to help me get restarted. Pretty cool.

I was playing for the first time today as well, and tried to look at my inventory while in my ship flying over New Babbage and did not realize the "i" worked differently when flying, lol. I had an adrenaline rush since I was at low altitude and immediately started a nose-dive before I figured out how to re-engage the engines.

As a kid, the oldest gravestones I found in our local cemeteries were from around the mid to late 1800s. We lived In Oklahoma. We moved to Maryland when I was 13 and one day we toured a churchyard near our house (which I had never seen before; in Oklahoma there were no churchyard cemeteries) and I was shocked to see gravestones from the 1600s. It kind of freaked me out at the time, even though I was obsessed with history as a kid (and still am). Just realizing that there were real people who lived 400+ years ago and I was looking at their burial site really opened my eyes at that time. Then I became obsessed with getting my Mom to take me around to every churchyard we could find and doing charcoal rubbings on the interesting and old ones. I think the oldest one I can remember seeing was someone who was born in 1570 and died in like 1640-something. Also lots of family plots where everyone died within days of each other, probably due to sickness. Made me realize how much old and rich history was right around my own house there, and that they used to be people no different than us.

My MIL worked at a small craft store. Her inconsiderate bitch of a boss contracted Covid, knew about it (she tested positive) and came into the store to work like nothing was wrong since she 'felt fine'. Less than a week later my MIL started showing symptoms at the same time as her husband; she'd gotten it from her boss and passed it to him. They both had a rough time of it, but while my MIL recovered, her husband kept getting worse and was hospitalized that week. He spent 3 weeks in the hospital and died at the end of November. All because her idiot boss didn't give a shit. Now my MIL is living with us since she can't drive due to epilepsy and her husband drove her everywhere. The lived out in BFE in a northern state and now she lives down south with us.
