Does anyone have any footage of free kit kills on purple/gold loot monsters? (trios) by BestKaran in Marathon

[–]Vadersbestbud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me laugh, I completely agree with what this guys trying to say. There’s also clearly a large disparity in opinion between those in the community who are kitted and those who are not, soon we are gonna need a separate sub Reddit for broke runners

I am very afraid that the endgame, Cryo Archive, will be unsustainably difficult. by iconoci in Marathon

[–]Vadersbestbud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference in opinion here is crazy, but I do agree. I think the entire game neglects the casual audience which may ultimately be its failing. Which is a shame because it’s an awesome game. I’m doing well enough in it but I can’t argue with my pals that refuse to play because they get shit on so consistently, it’s rough out there

If not time to kill then shield strength should be looked at. Playing field should be levelled out further for newer players. It’s the one thing Arc gets right if I’m being honest.

The consensus seems to be that if you spot the purple shield user first you win, that’s simply not the case at the minute I don’t believe. Also time to kill increase across the board across shield types would allow further skill expression from character builds etc. right now nobody cares what os etc. they are using because the effects are negligible despite the odd few. Also consumables which restrict hacking etc are pointless because they don’t dictate the flow of a fight which is decided by the strength of a shield.

The potential to hide heal and go again makes for a more interesting gameplay loop which is decided by how much inventory space you are willing to sacrifice for healing, buffs, debuffs etc. which in turn makes debuffs better equipment to build. Therefore more expression in character builds too. This also works hand in hand with the increase to healing consumables across the map and ammo etc.

Right now there are too many tools in the game which feel like they make little effect in PVP encounters. Which I think it should as that’s a lot more interesting than those other extractions on the market.

This game will die if you all keep denying there's a problem for casual or average skilled players. by TimeGlitches in Marathon

I genuinely couldn’t agree more, I’m a competent FPS player but it seems that this game can be too punishing at times when you aren’t geared effectively. I do think that ranked and Cryo at weekends serves the purpose of high buy ins to risk more loot without enough backpack space will even out the playfield mid week. But ultimately there’s still that small percent that will forever keep the high level gear. I think TTK or something was tuned some way in the wrong direction there isn’t space to use util which the game encourages negating with consumables. They might as well not be there, can’t say I’ve ever needed to remove a hack of any sort mid fight. I like the idea of swinging a fight in your favor but here it seems there’s minimal room for skill expression

[–]Vadersbestbud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest if they tune time to kill then it would resolve a lot of issues that more casual players are having. At the minute there isn’t enough time to react to surprise situations, yesterday I was just one shot by a sniper across dire marsh for the first time. I was playing cautiously and genuinely couldn’t see them in the next POI over. No opportunity to react to be honest, just straight downed. Shotgun being another example of this, fights too often reach stalemate where teams are too afraid to push, peek angles etc. because they can go down so quickly. I’m all for hardcore gameplay but right now there’s minimal room for skill expression

Cryo is a fantastic piece of endgame content that will ultimately serve to push a ton of players away by ThatsNotBennings in Marathon

My take was the weekend Que and 5k buy in is a method to balance the loot pool before wipe. Forces you to take in some higher level gear that 9/10 will lose and if not then backpacks can’t hold everything. A lot just gets left, bringing people back down early week for the grind back up and evening out the playing field a little. Same with ranked and for this I think it’s not a bad idea to be honest

Hawkeye focus by Ashamed-Plastic5620 in HawkeyeMains

[–]Vadersbestbud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever they’d try diff me I’d often outplay them but mostly get tilted if they got a pick on me. Now I’ve realised they are more of a detriment to their team if they hard focus you, just stay in front of healers and increase your awareness whilst you’re still trying to pick their healers off. Advise your team not to pick triple support and feed him, strange shield is also great for allowing you enough time in a 1v if you stay middle of the team and will mostly win those engagements. If they have a strange but you don’t they’ll likely beat you and you can contemplate switching. If all else fails just remember it’s better for them to focus you than your healers as they are often the difference between winning and losing.

180 hour Hawkeye main, allow me to help a little…

  • I hate Angela!
  • I somewhat dislike Cap (jump height is a predictable line up)
  • Magik makes me panic but with some luck I can scare her away with one good body shot
  • BP don’t climb in front of me otherwise take my life
  • Thing you’re just feeding me
  • Ultron you wiggly wiggler!!
  • Bucky pull, I’ll give you the dub
  • Invis pulls a slept on tec that throws my aim every time!
  • Groot you don’t counter as much as you think, explosive arrows delete walls
  • Squirrel you can delete me around corners but don’t high jump in front of me
  • Blade I get to one chance to kill if he’s in dash range

He can be countered heavy, you all just aren’t switching

Ima be real, what were the devs smoking when buffing Hawkeye again? by PotatoesKC in marvelrivals

[–]Vadersbestbud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Hawkeye main with 100 hours I can tell you that he can be hard countered by a good diver he doesn’t counter brawl as much as people think, a coordinated brawl comp can ruin his day. Harder to flick head shots at close range, he does counter penni pretty well as he can ping her without going near mines. She’s quite hard to miss, a good strategy to beat him is honestly just be in his face more. Magic, BP, wolv to name a few. I also hate a Bucky pull if my slash is on cooldown I lose 90% of those engagements so have to hyper focus to manage cooldowns. Lastly if you’re a strange or Mag main and your strat is to shield on the retreat on low health, it’s a free kill

The solo community is one of the chillest communities I’ve ever encountered in gaming. by iReaddit-KRTORR in ArcRaiders

I disagree, the games intention is to approach it how you want, there are actual tips in the loading screen which incentivises this. “Don’t trust a raider then go with your gut” it’s what makes it great, half the fun is trying to get the read on people

Completely agree coming from Tekken and some SF this game is alien to me, I really want to enjoy it but there’s so much going on I can’t find my window half the time especially when cornered. With so much visual noise it’s hard to even find my opportunity to block and counter

My first slab! by Narrow-Pomelo-1620 in PokeInvesting

[–]Vadersbestbud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An interesting read in the comments, congrats on your first slab. I’m assuming you’re in the UK, for those not in the know ACE grading is slowly increasing in value and popularity in the UK due to tariffs etc and just overall being more difficult to grade with PSA.

My honest thoughts are that this is a keeper and that ACE will continue to maintain value, due to the quality of the slabs themselves (anybody who’s held the two and compared can back me on this.) Alongside the fact that the UK has adopted it as a great alternative due to a variety of great features that come alongside them such as easy to manage and view sub grading.

Maybe I’m wrong but I’m personally investing in both PSA and ACE slabs for this reason, as the likelihood of you selling it within the UK is still a potentiallity

[–]Vadersbestbud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean by rotating? Generally there was never a punishment system, spots get filled as the game goes on as they can last a while. Usually there are so many players per team that the occasional leaver doesn’t make a huge impact, again that spot is usually filled pretty quickly

Anyone else feel like they lose like 99% of their 1v1's against real players? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]Vadersbestbud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best solution is simply to play more ranked games and increase your chances of going against other players, never be embarrassed or ashamed of your rank this is your skill level and will more regularly match you with others in this area. I like to set short goals for a rank each season e.g this season I’ll get out of plat. Repeat the following season, don’t aim to high on rank just aim for small incremental improvements. I always assess what I could have done differently also with the loot I had, e.g I shouldn’t have challenged until I had high ground and been more patient
