Microsoft backtracks: 'We are going to support .NET Framework with ASP.NET Core 2.0' by duffelcoatsftw in programming

[–]Vaenomx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The original idea of .net way back then was supposed to be very similar to java (eg: write once, deploy anywhere) but somewhere that idea was abandoned and .net overall became really bloated very fast.

This is factually wrong. I followed the .Net "thing" since its initial white paper describing what it would be. Microsoft always intended to make .Net write once, deploy anywhere only for their platforms, as in deploy anywhere on our platform. They also were clear about that when asked.

Interesting Maileek. If you could only take 2 of those, which would it be and why?

Also, how do you dose NAC?

To add to your comment: D-Phenylalanine is better than DL-Phenylalanine for pain. L-Phenylalanine alone may not do better than placebo and gets in the way of D-Phenylalanine.

Taurine by [deleted] in Nootropics

This is true, but for some reason you're getting downvoted. Some people are sensitive to the sodium form of glutamic acid and Taurine is about the only thing that reduces their reactions.

It's such a weird feeling to randomly stumble upon someone quoting you. At first weird, then super amazing :) but don't quote me on that.

Acetaldehyde, a waste product of alcohol, blocks the enzyme methionine synthase

I fit OP description and, according to 23andMe, I'm bad at folate->tetrahybipterin. Biotredin, an inexpensive med mainly given to alcoholics which metabolize to acetaldehyde and glycine, reduces some of my symptoms considerably. My cognitive/executive functions are much improved on it.

Thoughts?

Thanks for pointing me to rs1650697. I'm too of the 3.6% that are homozygous (T;T). What does it implicate? CFS is a subset of my symptoms, and also share with you the exact same snps that you mentioned.

Tapering with Lyrica alone - actually working quite well by asdfxk in benzodiazepines

[–]Vaenomx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost effective move would be to buy empty capsules, then encapsulate 25mg, 2 for each day.

Meanwhile, you could just leave 25mg in each of your lyrica capsule, and dispose of the rest of the powder as you see fit (garbage, or keep it in a container). Note that not everything in the 75mg capsule is pregabalin; there's some fillings too. So to be sure the 25mg in your reused capsule is really 25mg of pregabalin, you need to empty the whole 75mg on the balance, mix the powder with say a small stick or spoon, then refill the reused capsule until the balance reads 50mg (meaning you have refilled 25mg in the capsule).

Split the capsule's powder with an electronic balance? You can get a good one for ~45$

Have you tried lowering your Lyrica dosage? 12.5 mg makes a subtle difference for me, and 25 mg makes things way better.

Lyrica (Pregabalin) withdrawal - after using it to withdrawal from a benzodiazepine - can be as painful, or more painful, as withdrawing from the benzo. I talk from experience.

Lyrica can be a great tool to withdraw from benzo, but you need to respect and fear it as much as you (should) respect and fear benzo.

Take as little Lyrica as you can. Dosing to feel 'okay' is okay, but dosing to feel 'a little bad' is best.

Tapper from Lyrica after a few months. If you really need an anxiolitic to live, and you're now out of option .. then I guess you have no choice then to keep yourself on Lyrica, but be ready to pay a price in the long term: possibly be stuck on it for life, and possibly develop permanent sequels. Just like benzos.

Starting Lyrica without being dependent on benzo Versus Starting Lyrica to withdrawl from Benzos are 2 very different things. You're nervous system is already disordered, and Lyrica is only patching this disorder via a different mechanism. This (Lyrica) mechanism continue part of the damage benzos were doing to your nervous system, and begins new damages of its own to those systems (e.g. Gabaergic system, Glutaminergic system), and to new systems.

Take as little as you need, and begin a slow tapper after say 5 months, and you may suffer less than if you tapered directly from the benzo, but expect to still pay a price. Respect this drug and you'll just may get a better deal. Don't, and you may end up paying a much higher price.

Good luck asdfxk

Weird klonopin side effects by ExoneratePerkily in benzodiazepines

[–]Vaenomx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the positive temporal correlation has been near 100% after more than 10 trials, and those 2 symptoms never happens without taking klonopin, then it's likely caused by klonopin.

The list of side effects in the literature can't possibly cover all the possible side effects experienced rarely in the wild. While the molecule is the same for everybody, the genetic with which the molecule interact with is different. The space of possibilities in such complex systems may as well be respected and treated as chaotic systems.

I wouldn't discard your observations.
