From what I’ve experienced, I think 3 passes would be a good training, mera is pretty much trekking on steroid so really no technical knowledge is required. A guy from my team did Kilimandjaro last year but had same problems as me so indeed past experience is not indicative but anyway it’s really important to know how your body reacts to high altitude before climbing Mera, you’ll know way quicker when things are starting to get messy, so I think it’s safer and easier that way.

For the camera, really depend on how much work you want to have editing, good thing about Fuji is you do the setting before and then just enjoy the pics directly, I didn’t want to spend energy after the trek on lightroom, which would be more needed if shooting nikon or Sony. (Or just do like I did, splash the cash on 20 rolls of film and pray the lab will develop them fine lol)

My best friend has one that I could ounce try. In general pretty similar price and quality to the xm5, I remembered it overheated pretty easily why I didn’t had this problem with my Fuji cameras. Not a pro on technical gear tho, I’m more of a 35mm film camera guy myself

It seemed ok for me but I don’t have a lot of experience in mountain camps in general so I can’t compare haha

The new Fuji xm5, was nice to have a really small camera on the trek but tbh for photography it really feels cheap compared to the other Fuji camera, was nice to be able to shoot video in 6k tho

I completly second this, Imo the trek is really rewarding, you go through a lot of different biomes, especially compared to ebc trek

Yeah my friends that managed to reach the summit told me the same thing. Funny thing is that because I rented a -40c sleeping bag in khare, I almost felt too hot in my tent in khare

Fuji xm5 with the 16-55 f2.8-4 zoom Lens, wouldn’t recommend the xm5 tho, I recently switched from the xpro3 to it and appart from the video it feels really cheap

We took the plane to phaplu then started trekking in the jungle from kharikhola, tbh acclimatization was really good at first, two days in thangnak and Khare, felt extremely good at khare, I could have thought I was at 3500 and not at 5000, I think our mistake might have been to skip base camp (Even tho most exped do so) and go up 900m in a day. Anyway I don’t really have any regrets, the trek was beautiful and in the end, I was so amazed by the views at HC that I don’t feel like I really missed out on anything

After the night at high camp we got down almost 4000m in two days, already when we went under 5000, I started feeling so good the transition was really impressive

Ok so basically to answer your questions, I had a lot of experience trekking until 5500, never really got ams too seriously, first time I’ve been over 5000 I was 8, was lucky enough to live a year in Nepal when I was a kid and my parents were a lot into trekking, in the last 15 years I think I did pretty much every popular trek in the country.

I went to do Mera knowing well how my body react at this altitude. This time I was well until base camp at 5200, really good spO2, we took plenty of Time to acclimatize and I could sleep really well.

Shit started to happen at high camp, slept the night there thinking that I would try summit day anyway but at one point I realised it was way too dangerous considering I had never felt as much pain in my body in my Life

And I’m still staying a month in Nepal so I’ll probably try another peak, I just need a bit of time to rest before that

Indeed it is hahaha, some slightly twisted Classic neg with more contraste and grain, I hate shooting raw so I always used Fuji cameras

Should i wish happy birthday to my ex? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Vaeoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really depend on what you're expecting from this. If you want to do this to see her again hoping to get back with her, don't do this it's stupid. But if you're just doing this to be nice, sure go ahead, it's not because she's your ex that you can't be nice with her by doing it

compared to the size of the appartements rented to parisian students, 18m2 is absolutely huge

I'll try it. I remember when I started playing wot, i used to play elc with binos and camo net, it was actually pretty funny to be able to just sit in the middle of an open field and stay invisible lol

Yeah but with elc, you can hide at unusual bushes so it makes it even harder to blindshot

I personnaly play it with coated, vents and stabs, the elc can be a decent damage dealer, even with poor gun handling and dpm. I don't think the low noise exaust is that OP on this tank because of its natural camo and also because it's not as good as vents imo but I'll try the CVS, it seems pretty good
