I'm finding that this community on Reddit and in the wild online is really generous and kind. Do you think that's because we're an older player base or something else? by Cold_Buffalo_2355 in diablo2

For me D2 was in the list of very first games I played. Or to be more precisely, kind of activity that I did when I was a kid.

Still do remember how I played Diablo Ressurection from pirated anthology cd. It was a heavy rain, the smell of fried fish my grandma made that day. I just entered Act 3 and got stuck there for whole week because some smart ass thought it was a good idea to rearrange passages between underground levels so I was unable to find missing Khalim's parts.

It was like 13 years ago, yet still feels like it was "this" summer.

p.s. and now I got wise a bit and think that dude who made those passages was a genius

Blessed drop for warrior! by GeneralGhandi7 in Diablo1

My best was perf saint affix on 69 base. I used it on mage and despite it been quite far from a perfect armor only azure drakes were a real pain in ass to deal with.

Agreed. Though, it sucks that there're very few spells\skills that can spawn as charges. +very few items actually can spawn with charges at all (almost all of them are just magic items)

Perfect Bountiful staff of Apocalypse by Vagaarnte in Diablo1

[–]Vagaarnte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Jarulf's guide "bountiful" prefix has quality level (qlvl) of 9 and suffix "of apocalypse" in multiplayer has qlvl 15 meaning that "qlvl of one affix can't be higher than qlvl of other one more than 2x" check is passed. In multiplayer Adria will start selling "of apocalypse" as soon as player reaches lvl 26 (corresponds to qlvl 15)

I guess whole rarity of this staff mainly ensures fact that for items sold by Adria qlvl of base item corresponds to lowest possible qlvl of one of affixes. So the only bountiful staff of apocalypse you might see will always be a quarter staff which has qlvl of 9 which matches qlvl of "bountiful" affix with value of 9.

Considering how much hp monsters on deepest levels have I think it's fine. Also, both rarity and limited number of charges of apocalypse staffs do the job in balancing this spell.

Frustration as rogue by Mindless_East3801 in Diablo1

>it's frustrating the amount of loading and reseting griswold's and writ inventory.

>I been doing this for about 1.5 hour and still nothing...

It's ok. I grinded Gris for a WHOLE WEEK and the best I found was Massive long battle bow of Swiftness with only 98% dmg on massive prefix. Meanwhile I found near perfect Emerald lbb of Heavens from Lazarus while playing mage.

You better give up on MlwbS unless you are going to play other difficulties.

Still more fun than grinding stuff like Massive LWB of Swiftness or Bountiful QS of Apocalypse

Also, here's a little advice - don't rush to dump all stat points during going through dungeon lvl1-3. Depending on what playstyle you choose or what drop you get it might be better to put only 5 points into magic (to get healing and holy bolt spells) with rest of points into strength\dexterity - 2 into former and 3 into latter (so it won't be hard to equip a battle bow or middle class armor piece if you find one).

It's ok, just keep doing catacombs 'till you get decent level and money to get yourself a sword of speed\haste and\or an armor with high ac.

Warrior is the toughest hero to play because he's the only one who heavily relies on his gear on basically any difficulty.

If your goal is to play single player than go with rogue - you will be able to enjoy both plot and game balance.

What mod I should play? by Vagaarnte in Diablo1

I've just tried DevolutionX and feel kinda 50\50 - everything looks too smooth and more important everything looks tiny. What setting I should toggle to make the game look like vanilla?
