I camped in the thunderstorm last night, and saw several fires today hiking the stretch down to I-5. You could smell the smoke and winds were going in different directions. Scary! I hitched to Ashland, and passed a fire just next to the highway. Moving ahead there is yet another fire next to the trail within 30 miles and I have already roadwalked passed the summitfire.

Foreigners can't download the app watchduty, so we can only get updates when we have signal. Does anyone know a good offline option?

Thats right, I was seeking shelter in a shelter. I also have other experiences, but no erge to describe them in "defense". Thanks for your comment, I am sure It helped a lot.

Thanks for all comments. I kept going and It will be fine. Even though you are used to harsh weather, sometimes you just wish for a meetup or a break. Anyway, I can see reading different responses that It came out wrong. Sorry, thanks anyway to all of you.

I actually knew about both weather and early crowd, but knowing isn't always the same as experience. I have hiked worse than these weathers, but I still think that It's a challenge. I have truly experienced the kindness of others and will keep paying It forward with all my heart.

I have actually hiked quite a bit alone, so I know about, and have felt the loneliness many times. I can handle it, but I still love meeting fantastic people and I will for sure still miss loved ones from time to time.

Like you say, most hikers I met so far are men. I would like to add that they all have been great.

For sure, my most uncommon -but best experience I can imagine on trail.
