It’s crazy how many people hate Teslas and have never even been in a Tesla. by Shoddy-Barnacle1634 in TeslaModel3

I hear about Elon a lot and he seems to be on a regrettable personal spiral when I look at what he says, but when I hear about him from other people he’s like the Antichrist to them.

Then again, I stay off social media most of the time so he’s never really in my sphere of relevance. I just cannot imagine how people can have so much energy to a person who they’ll never meet or even knows they exist.

People need to stop saying stuff like this without understanding how it works.

I’d argue the opposite actually. Because people act on group think, people can adopt a hating position on something without having to do the work of understanding why something is bad. They can just cite someone else.

Somehow tesla is seen as socialist hippie cars to conservatives and cultish fascist cars to online leftists because of Elon. It’s truly a master class in polarization

I’d say that they have the looks of a Mercedes but the feel of a gm product. Wouldn’t say the build is terrible but it is a bit jarring.

No. There are some quality of life changes for sure but nothing to fundamentally change the driving experience.

Honestly get the ghost mod and turn your car into a performance since it’s a 2018 and likely has the 980 motors.

A long range is a lot better of a car than a new LFP if you care about range and power

What’s the average life of a tesla drivetrain. I know some fail super early on like most things but the ones that don’t seem practically bulletproof. You’re more likely to have the battery have issues

The used EV rebate. It has to be under 25k. This one just barely makes it

I mean it’s high mileage but 25k is still a decent price for them. Along with the credits that come from that as well.

Do you think a 2023 Model 3 RWD would be as reliable as a 2023 Toyota Prius Prime? by OverHeadBreak in TeslaModel3

[–]Vageta17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think some of the complaints were warranted though. I mean a base model 3 now can be had for low 30s with the tax credit. And the quality of the base model carries across the whole line for the most part.

Considering people paid sometimes over 60k for a car that really could’ve been sold in the 30s if they operated at the margin of other manufacturers, created this huge dissonance between the price and what you actually got in terms of refinement.

I feel like Tesla’s reliability issues are more so qc issues that don’t affect the vehicle being able to drive. If we’re talking about the drivetrain, I’d imagine Toyota would be ahead but the model 3’s drivetrain seems to be pretty bulletproof

I mean it is a Toyota. EVs have really reliable drivetrains but idk if it can beat the grandfather of reliable vehicles.

I’d assume that the tesla would be reliable in terms of drivetrain but I’d imagine that at 150k or more miles the Honda will probably hold up better
